Ok, you win. Ive missed the start off the F1 race now. As the end of the reflector is flat lāve machined a groove in it to take an oāring so its now bath proof. I hope your happy.
Thanks ChicagoX but Iāve along way to go to get near your ability. I love your work. Enough said.
A pigs nose? You learn something new everyday. I just have to work out now how to make a pigs nose tailstand.
Itās easy. All you need is a sows ear and some sugru. Or, add threads to the outside with a knurled sleeve. (I just want to drool over more threads and knurling)
Nice work MRsDNF!!! I did that... Brain OFF while working.... this last week. I did just the opposite of you. I now have an extra tube ready for the next light! Ha! Glad to know I'm not alone.
The knurling looks fabulous! Good threads are a blessing, however obtained. If it works smoothly one handed then youāve obtained success. Really like the size and style.
Hmmmm, Iāve seen that āpigs noseā somewhere beforeā¦ā¦
It looks really nice. It's a great idea to built in a key chains loop. It looks really cute against his giant brother. Has the big flashlight a name like Monster, Tower, Brave (I give special flashlights nicknames).
You have quickly become one of my heroes! Awesome job! I've watched your knurling skills improve over time and now you do some of the best I've seen. Kudos!
Iād really like to see the knurling being done, itās always puzzled me how thatās accomplished. Beautiful when done like MRsDNF doing it, not so much when done wrong!
Truly professional work there MRsDNF for sure! You do know, donāt you, that anodizing is the next step? When you pull off a deep purple anodize on that little light youāll be crowing like a Sunrise rooster with 50 hens!
Thanks again guys. I do have access to a sandblaster which I have used on another light. Which part would you sandblast?
The dodgy driver died last night. It went into a direct short somewhere. There is no burning on the housing but one off the chips looks a little sad. I need a driver that will handle voltages from .9 to 4.2 volts. Theres one at FT but its a little big in depth.
Believe it or not, this light gave me more grief from drivers than any other light Iāve touched. The original 7135 driver died, the BLF Mini driver had the led wire break off the board not enabling me to reattach it, the second BLF Mini driver had the worst pwm on high with LiFePO4 batteries Iād ever seen so took it out. It ended up with another 7135 driver in it with enough chips removed to drop the output to 1.5 amps on high. Needless to say I could not get rid off it quick enough, sorry I mean this has gone to a new home along way away where I hope that it has a very happy long life.
