FireFoxes 4 HID, [originally a GB thread], ($230., shipped via DHL), ($205 via Singpost) w/ beamshot links in OP

This is testing my resolve, i might have to get one, loved my FF3…hmmm

My understanding is that there needs to be a minimum of 20 pre-orders for this to happen, is this right Bill ?

Count me in- Australia destination.

New user here but long time lurker…

I’m very interested but what would happen for warranty ?

Also, is it possible to buy an extra bulb ?

Depending on the answers, I’m might be in for one…

I’m in.

Is this the same group buy that is being linked on CPF?

IE: Is there more than one group buy going on?

and

Do I also need to email Bill?

Bill says 13.00 to my address for 2 ff4s but i will see what happens with the other group buy. I know people were receiving their ff3s from CN in 3-4 days from the main sales site. Wait and see how this plays out. Maybe Fasttech will start selling them too. Yeah that and the Fenix TK-75 with XM-L2.

Fasttech will save us, hopefully…

lawallac, are you sure he can ship to US? It was mentioned that he cannot ship to the US, possibly due to sales territory conflicts. If this is not the case, then $13 shipping is not bad at all and that’s for two units.

I had asked before that was brought up. But I haven’t heard from lips yet anyways. His Gb has considerably more followers at this point but this. I know he has run gbs in the past for some great lights but I always took it as a benevolent gesture more than a capitalistic opportunity, mostly due to the work of routing packages and potential unhappy people. Maybe he is ok with everybody going to do a Gb with bill? We have lots of time still.

Lips in the FF3 GB sold the light for more (25$ more) than what you could buy it at a retail like flashlight-torch.com, who now pre-lists the FF4 at 289$, wouldn’t be surprised if the FF4 was around 300$ in Lips GB.

As to a thread on CPF, it says that someone has exclusive dealership rights in the USA for the FF prducts. Bill can only sell to you if you are not geographically located in the USA.

We should just have him send all of them to one of our friends up north. Then they ship them to us.

Send the lights to someone you know in Mexico perhaps? hehehe

Lucky for me China is my neighbor.

Can someone find out how much one light weighs all packed up?

900g. So just under 2 pounds. U sending me one?

Just trying to see if it even makes sense. I’ll see how much tracked shipping will be. The main issue could be US duty. Not sure how much that will add up to, if any.
Edit: I need exact package dimensions too.

AFAIK this GB is from a retail site so warranty would presumably be FF’s I year.

Spare bulbs should be available but I presume they will be like the FF3s and not plug and play.

Already asked them, but for those in the US I presume the same sole rights US agent would apply.

It is starting to get ugly, judging from what is being said in various locations, going to be interesting the next few days.

Is it true that you can only run these for about 3 minutes at a time as they get too hot and that a set of fresh Batteries only lasts 15mins.
Cheers

The FF3 would do about 10mins on high before it dropped down to its lowest mode. The FF4 is supposed to do double that. Turbo on the FF4 AFAIK is yet to be finalised (timewise) 1 to 4 mins.

The FF3 does get hot but it’s very small torch for the amount of light that comes out of the end.The FF4 should be better.

i sure hope not.

but what about the mode switching? isnt that the same as turning it on and off really fast. which is suppose to be bad for hid lights???

FF4: 60W 3 minutes then down to 40W
40W 30 minutes
24W 75 minutes

Run time of Super High (60W) has been changed from 1min to 3min
