Yeah it does, I wasn’t contradicting you, just pointing out that in this case even the wrap and PCB are the same.
Btw Nightcrawl, I have to admit that I’ve only just checked out your link. You’re right, it does look like the Nitecore cells are about matching the UR14500p based ones. Very interesting.
For me it’s a bit intimidating to try and understand all of the technical data in the tests/reviews/graphs but from what I can tell these Keepower did good in the testing linked above, and are a good value at around $5 each (if you can use 4 of them). I’m thinking about getting these.
Thanks for pointing out those keeppowers at doingoutdoors, they would be my pick as the best option. I’ve sent bill an email asking for clarification on shipping (or not) to the UK/Germany. I didn’t think we had any bans on li-ion?
Let me know what his reply is - I’m interested too. I didnt think we had a ban on these either - I just got some 18650 from Hong Kong (FastTech) a couple of weeks ago…
The Post Office over here has had restrictions on Lithium cells for a while now. 7Dayshop stopped shipping them for a while, and now will only deliver by courier. Obviously courier delivery is much safer than regular mail. :~
Didn’t stop Fasttech shipping me some Nitecore’s recently. Bill has also had the restriction in place for quite some time - since before his own web site opened up.
I don’t know what cell they use inside, but they’re a good company and I think their claims are probably reliable. These cells work great in the Zebralight SC52.
No, my problem with the keepPower's are their inconstant diameter size. 2 out of the 4 I bought don't fit my Xeno E03. They suffer from poor quality control IMO, at least mine do
Thanks for the explanation, valuable info since I have an Eo3 as well. Unfortunate though since I was set on the Keeppowers for the great price on 4. But 2 out of 4 may not be too bad if they will fit other lights, still taking a chance on all 4 coming in too thick.
EDIT: Just checked and the Keeppower specs show a diameter of 14.2mm, the tube ID on my E03 is 13.98mm, so going by the specs the Keeppowers wouldn’t fit. My AW protected (13.38mm at widest point) is quite loose, it has a lot of play around it. I was going to get the Nitecores now instead (only $1 more) but now I’m perplexed because the Nitecores at Fasttech show a Dia. of 14mm, so by the specs those won’t fit either.
atbglenn, would you be able to post the measurements of your E03 tube ID and Dia. of your nitecore batteries? My Xeno is the V2 not the V3.
My out of my 6 Nitecores, 1 fits slightly tight, but it's not so tight that it gets stuck
BTW, this as far as I get 2 of my KeepPowers into my Xeno E03. Also check out how they mounted the protection circuit. To me this is totally unacceptable.
Thanks for the pics Glenn, I thought something didn’t seem right so I re-measured my tube, I guess I was putting the calipers down in too far, now measuring at the very end I’m getting 14.7mm.
Wow that keeppower doesn’t look good, maybe email that pic to the seller and request a credit.
I think I’m going with the Nitecores from fasttech, seems like the best value now.
Thanks again everyone, this was very valuable information as I almost ordered the Keeppowers and they wouldn’t have fit.
