New Multi-XM-L Thrower --- MARSFIRE 318

Guys should we look at this light after the LusteFire? Looks like it does throw.

MARSFIRE 318 @Manafont

EDIT: Ok guys I have removed the “Budget” word in the title to avoid some confusion

Man why don’t they show a picture of the reflector!

And i guess $80 is the new price of budget lights.

Not exactly budget for me, but interesting. It looks like a J18 body with a redesigned head and a potentially interesting reflector. Smaller than BTU, but right around TK75 diameter I’m guessing.
I’d buy the host for $30, considering the J18 host can be had for around $20.

Yea, I call it as a “budget” light considering many people in this forum already own Fenix, Olight, OSTS Throwers… these kind of lights, so $80 might be just an average price point for “Budget”lightforum members :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah $80 is steep for me. Closer to $50 would be more tempting.

No $80 lights for me. Way too expensive. I’ll just wait until someone makes a $30 copy of it.

the head definitely not as big as TK75… but it’s more the same size as TR-J18.
but the reflector depth look the same as in my ThruniteTN30 . hmm… interesting…
too bad it’s $85… if it about $50 i might consider it

This one looks even better. 93mm head. Looks a lot like the shocker

Lustefire U3

Looks good to me. But that $80 price tag, well…… (my pocket hurts! :weary: )

Ditto ^

where can you buy J18 host for $20?

Maybe the 3 x XM-L of this Marsfire will be available in drop-in format in the future. Imagine that you may buy it as a drop-in and screw inside your J18 host and there go a triple XM-L floodier+thrower.

Nice looking light and takes 2 or 3 26650’s. But I doubt the specs are correct. I’d be surprised if it puts out more than 1,500 lumens. If the driver turns out to be an easy upgrade, then it may be worth it.

Maybe upgrade the driver with 5 LEDs driver from KD? ( the one that was made for TR-J12)

I’ll never find that again… I found it once after someone mentioned it. It might have been a J12, but the only real difference is the reflector. That’s bugging me now… |(
I keep thinking it was Manafont, but no find.

TR-J12 and TR-J18 body are the same, the only different is the head size.

Bumping this thread pending a review. I asked Santa, and he was a bit late but it finally came in the mail.

I am having a heck of a time getting the head apart. The bezel and the base cap are on there really tight, like heated-up-the-middle-section-and-screwed-in-the-pices-as-tight-as-possible-tight. Not enough area for a strapwrench and pouring boiling water over the center section almost worked. The freezer helped me get the X6 apart, it might help here.

What I can say so far:
*Butter-smooth square-cut threads on the head-body, body-body, and body-tail connections.
*The knurling on the extension and main body tubes line-up perfectly when tight.
*“TF’ marked boost driver.
*Draws ~1550mA on high w/ 3 cells.
*Omten reverse clicky
*Solder-blobbed King Kongs work fine, looks like enough spring travel for protected cells
*The reflectors are more than 2” deep, wide spill but a very tight center spot. Comparable to my XM-L2 Small Sun T620.

[EDIT]

Okay…does ANYONE have this light as well? I CANNOT get the head apart for the life of me. It doesn’t even look like the bezel is a separate piece, but it must be to have gotten the glass in there. And the lower part will not unscrew from the center section.
