Test / Review: UltraFire XSL18350 1200mAh (Orange)

UltraFire XSL18350 1200mAh (Orange)

I got this battery from two sources with a few months between.

Sample from LightCastle

Official specifications:

  • RechargeableYes
  • Lithium Ion XSL 18350 cylindrical rechargeable batteries
  • Typical Capacity: 1200mAh

As usual with cheap batteries, the capacity is considerable lower than specified.

As long as the battery is keep at low currents it works fine, but drawing 2A or more the batteries looses capacity and they do not track.

Sample from DealExtreme

Official specifications:

  • Lithium Ion XSL 18350 cylindrical rechargeable batteries
  • Typical Capacity: 1200mAh

Again the capacity is lower than specied.

These cells has less capacity, than the first batch, this may be due to age (Note: I did test them in December).
They have the same problem with currents above 2A as the above cells.

Conclusion

These batteries are acceptable for cheap batteries.

Thanks for testing these HKJ. They appear to have a higher capacity than some off this name brands larger batteries.

Thanks for the review!

I’m now confidant that these cells are somewhat on par with the AW IMR 18350’s in terms of capacity.

Thanks a lot for the review! Frontpage’d and Sticky’d.
