the, I was wondering, when you see these on high, is it like “wow”, like you’d react with an SC52? Or, more like “meh”? Edit: Does that say “www.btulight.com” on the boxes?
It’s definitely WOW!
SC52 w. 14500 is ~500lm for the first minute. This is way over, and longer time.
SC52 w. 14500 throw is ~4kcd, this is ~5kcd
And yes, it says www.btulight.com in the boxes. Nothing in the light itself.
Then, now, I’m even more looking forward to receiving these :)!
Glad someone received theirs so everyone can relax. Rolling out brand new products (internationally no less) takes time. Running a business isn’t all sunshine, puppies, and candy….
Thanks for the photos ‘the’. That is one wicked small light. And the titanium finish looks great. Really looking fwd to mine.
Teemu, wow! Thank you very much for your indulgence in that 16340 comparison. I’m gonna use it as my wallpaper! This DQG 18650 is one tiny monster. Your indoor shots sure brightened my weekend! Perchance anyone here done outdoor beamshots yet?

Hopefully soon! Just got a pair of Sanyo 18650s from a cordless drill pack today. Had three, they read 3.8v, 4.05v and a 1.05v that is now disposed of.
Maybe they will start showing up stateside soon, just got done looking at High CRI threads…
It looks like these are arriving in Europe first… so maybe what FT was saying about Singpost being faster to “some countries” may be true… My tracking numbers are working now, showing that mine are coming from Singapore.
“something” is waiting at the post office. Have to wait until after 10am tomorrow to find out what.
Could just be another Fasttech order
I really hate when that happens, and it happens a lot to me, because our post man, esp. on the weekends, seems to be too lazy to get out of his truck to TRY to get a signature :(.
Just got mine and some quick impressions before dinner
Wow this is a really nice and compact light!
Head is slightly darker color than body, XM-L2 got a pretty nice tint, no lubing and o-rings not installed but included.
Xtar 18700 does not fit they are a bit to long, unprotected Sanyos fits fine though.
Lens is plastic but very nice quality, should be easy to change if correct size could be found. Maybe Ric can source them?

If that’s really the case, I’m afraid ‘plastic’ may have been misrepresented in the OP as -“Reflector: Glass optics lens”…

What a really neat looking flashlight, like a big brother to the Jetbeam RRT-01. I saw an earlier post that this light gets rather hot on high… which wouldn’t be much of a surprise given how the emitter/star/pill is stacked. Maybe there’s an opportunity to improve thermal management.
Can someone who owns this light do a precise measurement of the inner tube diameter in millimeters? This would be really helpful for checking on existing 18650 cell compatibility. Thanks!
That said, a light that gets hot on high is a good sign that the heat is getting to the outside of the torch. The way the LED is connected to the head, no pill involved, removes an extra interface, and gives you a better thermal connection to the outside of the head, therefore allowing the heat from the LED to get to the casing faster with less resistance.
Thermal management comes from reducing the heat generated (lowering the output, or not running it for as long), and getting the heat out of the LED, and then out of the torch (thermal mass, and external surface area for immediate and continuous management respectively)

The star is actually the driver (like in it's smaller brothers). It's fujiked between a retaining ring and body => good for thermal transfer => body gets hot as it should.

Inner diameter: 18.7-19.0mm (from my initial impressions post)
The values above are precise measurements for both of my lights: Black is 19.0mm and the other is 18.7mm.

Yes. It's plastic. But we kind of knew that, because there aren't many glass TIR optics around, especially not in flashlights (as mentioned by djozz here).
I can also confirm the very nice quality of the optics.
At work now. I'll try to add comparison this evening.
Clip can be removed with some force.

I stand corrected. The tail says: D.Q.G Tiny 18650

Good luck!
Mine just passed through the sort facility in NY at 10:01 so at least it is in the states. It won’t be long now!
No idea where mine is as my tracking number still isnt working. It shows when it shows at this point.

Lol the star is behind the pill…
Hehe yes an interesting installation, it seems to be fujik glued from behind.
Is that a TIR lens? Didn’t realize that they were doing that with these lights…

Got a notice today a “parcel” from Singapore is waiting for me at the P.O. Will pick it up in the AM.
EDIT:
The parcel wasn’t the DQG Mini :|, just some stuff from Ali Express: what I got today #5079

My protected Sanyo 2900 from FT is too much of a tight fit, but my protected Trustfires is no problems.

Inside diameter of my Ti coloured is also 18.7mm.
The battery tube is exactly 70mm deep and the bottom spring adds at least 1mm.
That titanium (looks green to me) is very nice looking. Are these still available to be ordered?
