Convert Clickie to Twist / Momentary On

Since solar force has quit making the s7, does anyone know a good way to make a twisty out of a clickie?

I was more hoping for a switch mod.

Ok, seeing as we have obviously exhausted any help from Enforcer, anybody else got any ideas?

This will only work if there is a spring on the driver.

Gut the tailcap. Find a coin the right size to insert into the tailcap and cover the switch hole.

Drill a hole in the coin and install a machine screw, head outside and a nut on the inside of the coin.

Make the screw long enough to trim to the right length to make battery contact with the tailcap screwed down fully.

Solder the coin inside the tailcap. Install the machine screw and trim it and round it so that it makes proper contact with the battery.

To turn the light off, unscrew the tailcap until contact is lost and the circuit is broken.

If there is no spring on the driver, solder a spring to the coin and adjust length to accomplish the same as above.

That is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for. Thank you Steve.

Don’t worry, he is either still around under a different username or will be back shortly. What a tool.

Anyway, as someone who also misses the s7, if you use Stevetexas’ method, please be sure to let us know how it works out. And Steve, have you actually done this, or is it, how shall we say, theoretical?
