Quick review of the Magic Tire Novelty Bike Lights from LightsCastle

Novelty Magic Tire Bikelights from LightsCastle (fireflys)

5 Stars (Fantastic fun for kids!)

Price: only $3.20

A special thanks to Crystal from LightsCastle for sending me these lights to review (more as a novelty gift for my son)

These little lights are very easy to use, they simply thread onto the tire valves after removing the valve cap.

They also come with an adaptor to enable fitting of both type of bicycle tire valve.

The lights are called fireflys and come well packaged as shown below

You quite simply unscrew the firefly, remove a protective plastic strip (Storage Battery Isolator) and screw back together.

The firefly will only light when it is knocked or when there is a centrifugal force exerted upon them (the rotation of the wheel)

This is what they look like when fitted

I tried to get a decent still picture without much luck but here are the best ones LOL

Since the images are not too great, here is an even worse quality video.... hey what did you expect from me ? a good one ? ;-)

This is my boy riding his bike in the dark with the fireflys on

Pros

Fantastic fun for kids

Seconds to fit

Long shelf life on batteries (only uses power when moved)

Very bright

Nice blue glow when activated

Did I mention great fun for kids ? and adults too

Cons

None

If you want some fun bike lights for your kids that are cheap as chips. You cannot go wrong with the fireflys

I'm off to steal his fireflys and put them on my bike : )

Cheers

Definitely get noticed at night. I like how they are motion activated. It’d be cool if they also had light sensors, so they only came on when it was dark as well.

Not even only novelty, practicality of night visibility is important.
And besides……WHY NOT ADD MORE LUMENS!!!

hehe mini skyray kings on there, pumpin out 1000lumens

I picked up a superball with the same thing in it ..If you bouce it hard ...the lights turn on .. My dog loves it .. it's pretty cool to see her running toward you at night with a wild flashing red light going off in her mouth ....freaky .

i use similar bike lights in my spinning props, handy to have around
this style has motion and light sensors, with POV patterns

on my actual bike they don’t beat my hokeyspokes tho

Yep they're definitely good for being noticed at night. I'm not sure about the legalities of using them on a main road is here in the UK (they're quite strict on things like this)

I can think of loads of different uses for these, the knock/motion sensor in them is very useful LOL

@islisis... Those look pretty cool too :)

These look really fun! Thank you for the review!
