Iām not sure Iām the best person to askā¦ I grew up playing piano because I have long fingers. For me itās more a matter of finding a place to put the light, and not so much about holding it. Ideally itāll be small enough to fit in my purse and light enough to not rip the lining at the seams.
However, I do rather like lights small enough to be carried between fingers like a cigarette. Those are particularly comfy. Anything smaller than a SK-68 works pretty well for me as an EDC.
Just get a $4 BT USB dongle for your PC. Even a Mac can emulate windows if it needs to. They do have a Windows app for the FLEX system in addition to the Android (superior to IOS anyway ).
My home computer is a Mac, Iām not computer inclined enough to get it to use windows to emulate a PC. (Donāt want to pay for software either)
Iāll wait for an iOS version of this thatās phone compatible, itās a cool feature but I have programable lights so I can wait for the right one for me
IIRC, itās about 2cm longer and the bezel is about 2cm wider. Both are likely due to the bigger reflector. The handle, of course, is twice as wide with the two batteries. (like a Fenix TK35 handle)
Itās not huge, but itāll still require a coat pocket or holster or bag.
I can stuff either a C8 or a SRK into my purse, but in either case the weight is enough to tear the lining a bit at the seams. I suspect the Asgard will only fit in my heavy winter coat pocket or backpack, so I donāt expect to be carrying it very often. Then again, Iāve been thinking of un-sewing and re-sewing this purse with a stronger lining material so I can carry more toys. AA, AAA, and 16340 lights are nice, but theyāre no substitute for my bigger lights.
a nice light in the medium-throwy classā¦though Iām most looking forward to having this tech in smaller form factors. I look forward to Flex lights in the sub-C8 category (like Convoy M1/M2 or Shiningbeam Blaze) as well as something truly EDCāable in jeansā pockets.
For the Asgard, there are 254 bytes reserved for commands and their accompanying parameters. However, each mode is limited to 64 bytes due to memory constraints. 64 bytes are enough for a morse code about 5-character long, depending on how you encode the message.
The light has a reverse clickie so no it canāt stay on while power button is pressed.
Mode groups are called profiles in the app. You can define unlimited number of such profiles, but to switch between them youāll see your smartphone to be around.
There is a group of advanced commands which contains (pseudo) RNG (and more). We will explain on these advanced controls when the app is released.
I just want to be clear, this works with Windows XP and up right? The only reason I ask is that a lot of people seem concerned about being able to program this flashlight.
Well, that doesnāt sound quite ārightā. Any person who buys this Should and Expects to be able to program it by Bluetooth, either from the PC app, or smartphone app. Thatās the main attraction of this light. So your question comes across as a little āstrangeā. If not they would be better off with a ZY-T08.
But we donāt know yet anyway. Still gotta wait for the reviews, to confirm it.
I only ask, because Iām pretty sure I saw very early on that they said it would be via windows or Android. But I keep reading people worried that they canāt program it. Unless thereās been some information I missed- almost all people have access to Windows or Android devices so Iām asking for confirmation. Ok, let me wade back through and find the info for myselfā¦.
Edit: That took two secondsā¦ Fastechs websiteā¦
