FLEX Asgard @ Fasttech

Thanks! This gives me a much better idea what the light might be capable of.

I’m just waiting for the app now, to see if I’ll be able to run it.

I just want to be clear, this works with Windows XP and up right? The only reason I ask is that a lot of people seem concerned about being able to program this flashlight.

Well, that doesn’t sound quite ‘right’. Any person who buys this Should and Expects to be able to program it by Bluetooth, either from the PC app, or smartphone app. That’s the main attraction of this light. So your question comes across as a little ‘strange’. If not they would be better off with a ZY-T08.

But we don’t know yet anyway. Still gotta wait for the reviews, to confirm it.

I only ask, because I’m pretty sure I saw very early on that they said it would be via windows or Android. But I keep reading people worried that they can’t program it. Unless there’s been some information I missed- almost all people have access to Windows or Android devices so I’m asking for confirmation. Ok, let me wade back through and find the info for myself….

Edit: That took two seconds… Fastechs website…

Well that’s what I wanted to know.

Yep it’s stated in the website. But I’ll see the reviews to further confirm it. I hope the reviewers could test programming via PC and phone

No worries. We will. :)

Well, my prerelease sample of the new FLEXCandles Asgard model arrived today. This is the light with the Bluetooth equipped driver that can be programmed wireless on the fly using your Android device or even from your Windows PC using their custom FLEXCandles app. Sorry for some of the crappy pics...I couldn't wait to post them.

Are you serious? Have you tried PM’ing them?

Hows the FnF compare to the small sun johnny??

Aside from the user interface, pretty much identical in every way. LOL! I’m waiting to see if the others have received theirs yet and whether they are seeing a couple issues that I’ve noticed. Then I need to work with Fasttech to iron things out.

Not a big deal, I'd rather wait on the final version anyway.

Yeah, but there were a bunch of people (including me) who were looking forward to your review! Can we start a campaign or something?

I gotta say after seeing these pics that I’m glad I held off on purchasing this light. I’m excited about the methodology, etc, and it would be a great light to play around with, maybe more than anything to date … but other than that reflector, bezel, and emitter, this light is an eyesore to me. $46 is still $46. Now, make me feel really bad by giving it a great review!

ohaya -

I'm talking about the app. I'm saying I don't mind waiting for the final version of the app, which should be here about the time the light arrives.

saypat - I didn’t think it look like an eyesore though. It looks great.

And nice serial number JohnnyMac!

Heh…yeah it is. Actually all the preproduction samples have the same serial number on the outside due to an error by the factory. Inside the driver itself (much like the VIN on a car being on the engine block) the firmware has the real serial number. In the case of mine, it truly is the first one ever made.
