TrustFire T90-2 Luminus SST-90 @FASTTECH

Just listed by today, the Trustfire T90-2 . Although the 26650 batteriies are included, but I still think the price is SERIOUSLY expensive at $187!!

SST-90 driven at 8.3A(if that’s true) should be really powerful, but nowhere near the 2500 lumens as advertised. How about modding it with SBT-90 or a de-domed XM-L2 for much better throw?

And it has two switches? Side switch and rear switch? I guess one of them is for changing mode while another is ON/OFF switch.

relic38 has bought another version of the T90, which is the Ultrafire version from Wallbuys . The body tube design is different and the current draw is not so high according to the review .

It says 10W power consumption, which would be insultingly low for an SST90 emitter. I hope that is just a wrong spec.
The T90 I bought was driven quite nicely at stock. I modded it to about 10A and it was fine. I then swapped the emitter to MT-G2 and the driver was fine with it (resistor mod to set current at ~5A).
I like the look of this one, but the price is a bit steep, even with the accessories.
Edit: Wait, it says 8.3A drive current. Now that’s better. I hope that is the right spec.

$187!?

The battery tube is HUGE! 43mm? I think it might accept 32650 cells if that’s real.
Yeah, the price is a killer, for sure.

The “X” pattern machined into the battery tube and electronic switch alone are worth the additional $100.

Wow,nice looking light it seems to be the next generation x6.I think the side switch is a definite plus, but the drive current and price are 2 things that would keep me from getting it.I hope someone begs for a review sample to see what it's all about.

Yeah well it also says runtime 2-3 hours so it appears they just draw numbers out of a hat!

Someone needs to take a hit and test it but I'm afraid it won't be me.

Specs for other lights posted today are screwy too.

Hi,

I did some lux measurements, including of a stock X6 recently:

Those lux measurements were @ 4.3 meters.

As you can see from those, the X6 was barely better than a stock HD2010, so I wonder if this new light would perform any better?

Correct, the X6 does not reach much further than the HD2010, but I believe the spot that it does it with is a lot larger.
Just something else to consider when evaluating a thrower.

relic,

Ahh. I know that this sounds stupid, but I hadn’t really thought about that (larger spot for the X6 vs. HD2010).

More informations about this?

dedomed the sst-90 means a great loss of spill?

LOVE the look of this light- pity it’s over priced for what it is.

lol @ Trustfire

Okay not to review a dead thread, but I just got offered a great price on the T90-2 that sounds too good not to jump on—about half of what I’ve seen it going for elsewhere (not a normal price yet, just got lucky!). I can’t resist! I’ll let you guys know how it is.

Do you have a link? Or did you buy one from a private seller. I have been watching this light, and the best price I’ve seen is $187 and change from Fasttech. This is one I’d really like to add to the collection someday.

For now, call it a private seller. Right now, shipping is high (the vendor like DHL, and their prices are in line with actual shipping costs). If I can convince them to ship China Post, I’ll pass along the info here. But if China Post isn’t an option, the price will be around the same as FastTech/slightly higher. But, that being said, I might just end up paying up for the expensive/very fast shipping and live in comfort knowing I received an authentic product quickly. We’ll see how it goes.

TL;DR More questions need answering

unless of course, group buy.

Looking forward to your follow up Rollinstone. That light has been on my wish list for a long time.

I’ll look into a group buy. I think it could work. This is a fairly busy time of my life and I’ve never done a group buy before…so we’ll see
