Crelant Flashlights From FastTech Warranty Info And Authenticity

First Fenix, and now Crelant? :_(

Great, i was about to buy some Crelant lights from Fasttech at really great prices, and with free shipping, but now i can buy them from some great guy with real prices and paid shipping. Just great!

listing hot items with crazy price but immediately retracted is not showing a good sign of supplier sourcing. I think FT still can sell those with special coupon just like the case with Nitecore.

Fasttech’s recent move to discontinue Fenix and Crelat lights based on the distribution agreement issues is, IMO, their way of taking the high road. You cannot blame them for that I guess. I think they would have been a lot better off by agreeing to a MAP and using PRICECONTROL code as a loophole. Again, just my opinion. Sales would have been significant, based on reaction to the prices.

On the other hand, this would have likely been at the expense of some other sellers who cannot get by due to additional overhead.

Crelant claiming that Fasttech was unauthorized, is not 100% verifiable. FT could have been getting their products from an authorized distributor and simply reselling. This should be fine, but it’s hard to know for sure what restrictions are put in place by the manufacturer.

As a buyer, I don’t like MAP enforcement from companies… There is room for everyone to sell the same product and the price differences of the more expensive e-shops can be balanced as a service for the customer (better shipping times, better after sales service, a real person who answers the phone). Even the knowledge that he supports local companies is enough sometimes for a buyer to choose a more expensive local company.

But for some of us who don’t have local companies that carry these products (with less than 200% the price) and we don’t mind waiting a bit more, MAP sometimes just stands in the way of buying some flashlights.

Especially in Crelant’s case, I think the prices at Fasttech were fair for the majority of Crelant’s models and I was in for some of them. But for the MAP, they are dangerously close to better, fully regulated, alternatives. That’s just my opinion, I might be wrong.

I do think it is unfortunate, especially for Intl buyers, that FT decided to pull the Fenix and Crelant products. The PRICECONTROL approach would have satisfied their customers better.

Also, I do believe that North American customers would have mostly continued to shop locally (the V11A at MD-L is dangerously close to having the trigger pulled on it).

Maybe they could advertise MAP prices but secretly give discount codes to all that want to buy Crelant of Fenix lights!

I would certainly hope that they learned their lesson and in the future they list MAP prices and use the PRICECONTROL coupon. Damn shame they aren't selling them. I'm seriously regretting not pulling the trigger on a 7G9V2 or a 7G10 the first day they showed up. If money wasn't a serious issue these days I would have for sure. Hopefully they can work with Crelant and get a second shot at selling them again using MAP and a coupon.

Jasmine just replied on my PM about this and unfortunately it is not that easy, coupon would not solve anything and manufacturers would still find a way to enforce their stupid MAP…

Same situation here, I was looking at 7G10 couple times a day :8)
Don’t get your hopes on that last thing :~

I thought it is working with nitecore, at least the EA4…

on a different post the other day I mentioned the whole nitecore MAP debacle and was told it was NOT a MAP issue but that they were not a retailer for crelant and this came from crelent. I believe it was due to the fact once again due to someone hi-jacking a thread started by a seller (MD lightsource) promoting his product and they had to talk about how much cheaper FT was. People seem to shoot themselves in the foot around here.

Darn, that 7G9v2 was a steal, stupid me for holding out, but may not have gotten shipped anyway. I paid $81 for my 7G9 via eBay a while back, then shortly after it became more commonly available for that price anyway. Just may have to buy a Shocker from Ric now - XM-L2's/Noctigons/resistor mod I'm think'n.

Hello, everybody,

This is Vivian from Crelant company, i am hereby to declare and inform that “fASTTECH” is not our distributor, he even don’t have the supply source. I believe and i am very sure that this is a very bad action that want to disturb this market.

Thanks.

This was one of the post

Ditto!

I want one bad.

I think it’s a huge shame these companies keep screwing Fasttech for just trying to give us a good deal, they can’t be selling at a loss, especially considering they include shipping.

The main reason I prefer to buy from Fasttech are their great service, free shipping (unlike md-lightsource where I’ve bought my Crelant’s for a fair bit more than FT) but mostly for the fact that they cover return shipping for any warranty issues which is the biggest risk when buying internationally, not many other retailers offer that!

All this MAP stuff seems to do is annoy the customer, I’ve seen quite a few posts on here that say they refuse to buy Nitecore for those reasons and i’m guessing there will be some about Fenix and Crelant soon too.

All I will say is I ain’t happy how all this blew over myself and how and who brought about this change. I know what was done. Somebody complained.

I was getting ready to buy the Crelant 7G9 Xm-L2 for like $80 shipped. I know a person has got to make some money when they are in business for themself. But at the same time it screws a lot of folks that wanted to get in on some of FastTech’s great prices on these Crelant lights. That like I said ain’t us members problem. But now it is.

It does’nt take a guy with a very big IQ to figure out what in fact went on here. I don’t think FastTech was doing anything wrong. They have always been good to me and upfront. So the more I think about how this was played out here, the madder I become. One lousy complaint ruined it for us all.

Quite frankly - I couldn’t care less about MAP and whatever agreements manufacturers have with dealers. But all this drama caused by different dealers/manufacturers complaining is just retarded. First nitecore with illumination supply and now crelant/fasttech…

I think the irony in all this is most people will just end up avoiding certain brands of lights because of the drama caused.

I will buy from illumination supply again, and I will buy from fast tech again. I most likely will not buy nitecore or crelant again.

If you followed the thread that the originated from you would see that Fasttech can get as many Crelants as you want. But Crelant, or an employee of Crelant started shouting their mouth off saying that Fasttech were not authorised dealers and making ridiculous statements about them not having a warranty. So Fasttech simply told them to stick them up their arse!

Good on Fasttech!

Marc.

Maybe part of the equation is that Crelant new website now has an online store with some discount and free shipping (over 50usd), so they didn't like the idea of fighting for low prices against other webstores...

It looks to me that lately not so many international webstores carry Crelant, and the ones that appears to carry them are selling only the older models (pre xm-l2).

Even IO had a great assortment a few months ago and now has one light only.
