FLEX Asgard @ Fasttech

If I understand correctly, yes. It seems to have some features to implement random delays between actions so a random-speed strobe should be possible.

Yesterdays updated fixed several crashes I experienced.
Todays update fixed the landscape crash. Well, kinda. I can not use the app in landscape mode. But no crashes.

That must be the fastest crash fixes I have ever experienced! 8)

I have just installed the app and there is indeed a random time possible, so if this makes a short random pause followed by a full flash this all looped up should make what I thaught of…
Sadly the on time of the flash can’t be set randomly

Is there a kind of manual for the advanced functions?

I could look up all the mcu register by myself but I am lazy…

Initially I hoped for more programming possibilities, especially to get the switch input.
then ramping and other funny things would be possible.
Press 5 short times to enter hidden strobe/morse mode…. And so on

:crown:

(sorry 'bout the redacted SKU, it only goes to a 'listing removed' redirect anyway... and I don't know how many they will have for individual sale, I'll leave it to them when/if to give it an active, public product page)

So the Asgard arrived today in only 6 days

The retail box is beaten up and split open, no lanyard as shown in the pics, no instructions, no apps, no spare O-rings, carry holster, etc………Now what??

I wanted to install the Windows app, as I’m waiting for VZW to come out with S4 32mb and won’t buy one until they do, so that’s going to be awhile I fear……….still where is the APPS? no info on the flexcandles site either :~

Windows app is still in beta testing phase. Most of the bugs are already ironed out (after seven iterations), but there are still some left.

Please ask Jasmine (FT) if you could get the beta version of Windows app. It's quite usable already..

mines been sat with hk post for 9 days :_(

Thank you, I really didn’t know that.

I have never tried anything like this, but there are Android emulators for PC/Mac. I don't know if the BT functions would survive the translations, though.

My bare drivers got to CA yesterday, so I should have them first of the week sometime. Still have no idea what I'm going to do with them. :~

Yea I tried that already didn’t work……the light has been officially released and so should the apps, otherwise I think it’s pointless to release the light if we can’t program it, I also hope it comes with some instructions as I got nothing with the light.

So how does this light perform? Does it totally eclipse its cool lowly predecessor not on Asgard?

sigh

I'd wager there's more info on how to do what in the pre-reviews posted here so far than there would be in even the best printed instruction manual.

I’ll go back and read all the threads and posts and get back to you in a week or so :open_mouth:

Sorry for the delay on the Windows app and instructions. The Windows app still lacks support for “advanced steps” and thus the delay. Given the responses here, we’re going to release a version without advanced steps today and post it on the product page.

The flashlight was originally intended to go with an Android app only. After hearing quite a few concerns here, work was started on the Windows app, but it started much later than the Android and thus the wait — we apologize for this.

Frankly we haven’t done well in the user’s guide area. We have added programming mode instructions on the products page now, here it is again:

  • To enable Bluetooth and enter programming mode, enter any mode, count 5 to 6 seconds, and quickly switch mode again (power cycle or half-press). You should see 3 quick blinks, short pause, and 3 quick blinks again, indicating programming mode.
  • To exit programming mode, simply turn off the flashlight, or switch mode by half-press.

After you have paired and connected to the flashlight, everything else should hopefully be straightforward on the app.

Let me know here if you have questions, I will provide technical assistance.

Anyone received his?

So how bright is it really, i mean measured, on the FENIX lumens scale?

anyone with a integrating sphere and comparable FENIX lights?

@ Fasttech

I copied the info off the webpage into a nice word document now for reference, I didn’t even have a clue how to enter the proper mode or pairing, sure it’s on BLF somewhere but I really didn’t feel like reading back over a months worth of post to find it; I’ll d/l the windows app now and give it a whirl.

From any mode switch into the next mode and exactly 8 seconds into it give a half press on the switch to enter bt mode. If you did it right you will see the light enter a new mode where it blinks 3 times in a row in moon low, pauses about 5 seconds then flashes 3 times followed by the pause, etc. It should stay in this mode until you click out of it with the switch.

Yeah, any more reviews of this light? Like full ones? I bought one of the NW, and it’s on the way. People really seem to like the small sun, so hopefully this one is good.

Thanks! up & running on my Dell XPS
