IS Promotions: Rayus C01 / PT10 Series Intro [8/28]

I'll put together a mini review on it here, and on LPF monday :)
I don't think the price for this light is out of line, at least not with the discount IS offers. Quality wise it's on par with anything else out there. The machining is really excellent.
If you don't care about the color LEDs, you would be quite pleased with it.
As a side note, since nitecore did go the color LED route, I'm a bit surprised they didn't include a UV in the lineup.

I don’t think its surprising that the colour LEDs are low output, they are clearly 5mm ones and not high power. I would only expect around 30 lumens max from them, and in a very floody beam profile.

If you want a light with high power colour options you would have to look at a RGB MC-E based one, or I think one manufacturer made one with a reflector that rotated between different coloured XP-Es, though that was expensive (I think it might have been a microfire).

I agree that UV would’ve been a good addition.

Any news on the zebralights?

No ship notice yet, we do have the 14500s in stock now though. I'll post more information as soon as I hear from them.

Still nothing? :(

I know for certain that they shipped out SC52s, not too sure what else they shipped. If you could see their shipping notification system (or lack of) you'd be as confused as me.

Any updates? A month is a pretty decent amount of time to produce more. It's not like they're making them one by one by hand.

If they did, then you would be getting the ultimate deal :stuck_out_tongue:

Noice!

I deeply apologize to the people who have been waiting for their pre-orders. We had placed several orders of SC600MKIIs to Zebralight and to date they have only sent us a fraction of the total amount. The latest unfulfilled order by us to them has been sitting for 2 months with no action. I am unsure what is going on with their manufacturing division and emails asking for an estimate are replied with "next week" every time.

No need to apologize, not your fault. Although I appreciate it.

Pass along the message though that it's things like this that make people think twice about ordering from certain manufacturers. That these kinds of delays mean for future releases, they can expect stock to sit on the shelf for a while because pre-orders will not be forthcoming.

Not when the manufacturer can't meet a release date, or even come close to it.

Only thing I'd really appreciate from you, is an occasional, maybe weekly update? Even "nothing yet ZL still dragging their feet" would be great.

I actually sent them a sternly worded email of my dissatisfaction and disappointment today with a request for their US offices to call us. I'll let you guys know their response when they reply. We do, however, have ZL 14500s, 18650s, and SC52s in stock now. H502Ws were estimated to start shipping out to dealers today, but I wouldn't count on that date.

I appreciate your consideration, but I have no problem with you or even Zebralight. You cannot sell/ship what they haven’t sent. People do silly things under pressure and make promises they cannot keep. They apparently haven’t learned it’s better to less and deliver more. 8)

That's fantastic news!!! Actually got tracking# from you already... might have it in time for the weekend :D

Any new upcoming products aside from the SC52W?

We are waiting for the Nitecore SRT5 and Zebralight H502Ws.

There is an SRT5? That's great :) Already own an H502, so I'll pass on getting the NW version. Lovely little headlamps... just wish it took a 14500 like the SC52.

The SRT6 looks to be identical to the SRT7 in every way except for the head being smaller. Of the SRT line the next one I'll bite on is the SRT3.

The SRT7 has grown on me, after my initial disappointment.

I've put it through about 6 hours of use so far, and pocket carried it for about ten days. One spot of anodization on a fin got scratched, but otherwise working perfectly, and looks 98% new.

The detents are extremely useful... I can now preset exactly what I want from memory before turning the light on. Only areas I wish Nitecore would improve on with this light/model line would be no empty travel distance for the ring, a lower low, and more powerful color LEDs, and of course a true, alternating police strobe.

In terms of throw, in this/similar size, the only light that beats it, is the Crelant 7G6CS. It has a much larger head though, so not nearly as pocket friendly, and overall quality wise the nitecore is in a different category.

Oops sorry, I meant the SRT6. An SRT5 supposedly exists but we haven't been able to pre-order it yet. I think based on the nature of the magnetic ring, some of the SRT flashlights will have lower lows than others, the difference shouldn't be that great though. The SRT6 also does not have the tri-color LEDs. I know I've been saying this for a long time but we're very close to launching our direct thermal copper boards and mounted ones. We also might be moving out soon :D
