"Thank YOU ChibiM and the other contributors too, of course, for starting and maintaining this wonderfully informing thread!
I recently received some Eneloop battery's from Amazon and was able to verify, by the above thread info, that as far as markings go, they seem to be genuine 2nd gens made in Dec 11 and Feb 13. I haven't started the torture cycle yet but I will post the results once I get a round toit.
Imho the problem with counterfeit merchandise isn't that it may work almost as well as the real deal, it's that you have been cheated on the deal by the merchant. Thanks all for helping to expose these ba...uh...behaviors.
Hi I’d like to purchase 4th gen

I’m located in the USA. I dont want to deal with worring about if I have fakes or not. I would buy them directly from SANYO if they had a web store. . any reccomendations on where to buy from?
If its against policy to post links to stores here, please do not post them. just send me a PM
what picrthis said... they are (as far as I know) only available in Japan. Almost every store carries them, except for the D and C cells, which are not available everywhere.
Thanks for the quick replies.
So, I assume that noone is aware of a store (or website) in Japan that can ship these to a US address?
Thanks again

They only ship to address’s in Japan but you can get use the forwarding service, that service will cost you $14 plus the Rakutens standard shipping rate. So if you break it down it would be around $6 -$7 a battery for 4 batteries with all the shipping fee’s added in; your gonna have to REALLY want these to pay that kind of Cash
Thanks, I am replacing my entire battery solution. I have not yet calculated the quantity i will need but a house of 5 with heavy electronics use. Im thinking 32 AA 16AAA a charger and some c&d size plastic convertes.
