Microa's single XP driver board

I have made this driver board for 20mm lens with core shape lens holder for testing.

The programming adapter

The LED is driven at 1A with LM45 temperature sensor.
The program is the famous Tido’s BLF-VLD.

Hi Microa,
What’s the input voltage. Great work as always. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your kind words. The driver IC is QX5241 buck driver. Input voltage can be 5.5-20V.

I see you are still playing around with the QX5241. I was just wondering if you had ever tried to push the QX5241 say to 4 amps or if its even possible without it letting out the magic smoke. I know you made a few modifications to your custom board over at CPF that resembled the DX sku#20330. Could a better FET be used to achieve 4amps of constant current or would the inductor be to big. Or if you know of a IC that could possible do 4 amps very much in the same circuit as the QX5241. I really liked the way those old sku#20330 DX boards kept almost a perfect regulated set current. Looking to over drive a XML on a copper sinkpad. You do remember me from CPF?

Of course I remember you, you are my old friend. I didn’t try to push it to 4A but I knew that to drive at 3A is possible. In this case, the power supply to the MCU requires an individual volt regulator. The QX5241 can operate up to 2MHz according to the data sheet, low value inductor can be used such as 4.7uH so that high current compact sizes inductors are available. Did you try paralell two schottky diodes and FETs?

I never even considered it. Yes that should work, I may just have to try that soon. Thanks for your help Microa.
I did finally start learning programing with a little help from Dr.jones. I have programed my own drivers now with my own preferences.

You knew that I am an AVR dummy. There are many kind persons in this forum will help you. I enjoy DIY and love these good fellows.
