Hey everyone, Great site!

I would just like to say thanks to everyone who posts on this site! I have been looking around for the last week or so and have really enjoyed the reviews. I have looked around some other flashlight forums and got burnt out pretty fast on all the bickering and putting down other peoples ideas, likes or dislikes.

In general I love the general idea of the forum, budget high performance lights! Well I took the plunge and got a couple items http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280581076333&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280581076333&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT and http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250777886906&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Aloha and welcome to BLF Jason!

Welcome to the joint xxllmm4

glad you like the forum.

One of the best things about BLF is that dealers are welcome to participate.....there's even a 'Commercial Sellers' section where you'll find lots of good deals.

Dealers who pretend to be ordinary customers aren't quite so welcome........but I'm sure that doesn't describe you does it?

Welcome to BLF! :)

Welcome

Welcome to BLF xxllmm4!

One thing I love about the internet is you can hide behind it, accuse people without any proof and if your wrong it dosent matter, surely that dosent describe you does it Tas62?

Hi xxllmm4 welcome to BLF, enjoy your stay.

Forgive Tas62 for his 'assumptions', but we have been the target of many ambush-advertisements from the far east lately.

One question, haven't you seen the group buy for the Xtars? Could have saved you a bit of money. Anyways, they seem like good batteries. Do you already have a charger?

I did see the thread on the xtar group buy but it looked like the deal fell through? Maybe It was an old thread or I did'nt read it all the way through. I also ended up bying a pair of hi-max batteries for $12, they look like about the best deal going right now.

I have a couple cheap usb cell phone chargers converted with a battery tray, kinda sketchy so I don't use it anymore.

I have a Imax B6 for my radio controlled car, but have never used it on my cell batteries. I don't have the right cables but should order some.

I also have the UF-188 I know its not the best but at least its a safe charger, cross my fingers

I'm reluctant to admit it............but I've been wrong before, and maybe I can add another mistake to that list. If so my apologies.

We've had a fair few 'I've just got some great lights from (some ebay seller)' spams posted here lately.

I think we are almost there on the 2600 Xtars. 12 bucks for the Himax is a really good price, when it is incl. shipping. Got a link? I have this charger and thinking about getting the XTAR MP1 as a travel charger.

Welcome to BLF xx...

Good to have you here!

You don't buy leads, you make them. 4mm plugs aren't expensive, neither is wire. The fun bit is in figuring out how to make a suitable connector. I've used bits of springs, magnets, random metal things and lots of duct tape in the past (and present).

You do need a multimeter to figure out which pins do what though.

Welcome to the funny farm, xxllmm4! Maybe it's because I'm on my Xoom tablet but your links bring up empty ebay pages with no items. Am i the only one? I might have to bust out the laptop.

Comes up fine here........A 300lm zoomer with a ss bezel that Foy would love to work on.

No problem, Tas62 we do own our own business, Screen printing, selling Predator Carburetors, and selling some automotive off road LED's. We don't sell flashlights or batteries, right now we have a 99.8% ebay feedback rating and there is no way in hell we could turn a profit and keep that kind of feedback selling Flashlights and batteries LOL so if the board needs some t-shirts made let me know

Don, I'm glad you said their 4mm plugs. I kinda figured but was not sure and couldnt find any verification. I came across this site and have bought a couple battery holders from them for some game camera projects. I was planning on using one of them to connect up to the B6 http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?vendor=0&keywords=18650+battery+holder their cheap, a US company and cheap shipping.

Vectrex, I bought the Hi-max off ebay, offered the seller $4ea he countered at $4.50ea + shipping =$12 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/18650-2600mAh-Protected-Li-ion-Battery-3-7V-1PC-/320619164465?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item4aa6643331 I think this is the same guy everyone else is buying from.

I do have some great information on some fake ultrafires I bought about a month ago... I'll save that for another post LOL

After something like 40 years of using them, if they aren't 4mm plugs I'm going to pass on buying whatever it is. I used to be a science teacher back in the 80's and I used a lot of 4mm plugs and sockets.

Assume 4mm (or 2.5mm but the difference is obvious) plugs and if they aren't, it's time to recycle the device.

Leads are quick and easy to make with your choice of termination. No way I'm buying those when they are so easy to make.

Mmmm.. BLF T-shirts. That could be dangerous.

Im in

You're right; I would love to get my hands on that. Would look so cool with the angle like it is. However, it does look suspiciously like a very bad zoomie Lang sent me to review recently. I don't want to say something potentially incorrect about this light but I suppose at $10, wouldn't be the end of the world.
