Out of 6 cells none are the same is very scary... but he didn't know .. because they were for manufacturer use .. yeah right .. those dang manufactureres use lots of bad batteries
Langcjl, Yes they where all the same wrappers, the standard red/black Ultrafire 3000 BRC. I would like to propose this, anyone who has some bad or dieing cells to open up the wrappers and post some pics before sending them off to be recycled. It might be interesting too see whats really inside maybe start a database? It looks like there was NO attempt at removing the factory markings.
So I wonder, how many of the Ultrafire / Trustfire / Whatever fire are fakes? It looks to me that there are more Fakes out there than the real thing. I would love to get my hands on some Genuine Ultrafire 3000's if such a thing exists (not saying their any better but it would be fun to see)
BRC 3000 mAh is old news, BRC 4000 mAh is the new thing: http://www.buyincoins.com/details/1-x-uf-18650-3-7v-rechargeable-battery-4000mah-with-tab-product-3059.html
I made some complaints for batteries and i absolutely hate when they tell me:
These batteries were made for manufacturer use. The quality may not as good as the branded batteries, but the difference of capacity should not be this much.
I bought some 18650 Ultrafire 3000's cells off Ebay<< ?? ouch ...
I'm only trying to warn others
Ebay and batteries is a BAD mix
junk chargers and ebay are a bad mix
ultrafire 3000 batteries are garbage and everybody on the planet knows it ..
if you don't know it ..learn it right here ,Everyone hates this battery ..i think they hate the real ones not just the fakes ..i am pretty positive this battery hasn't ever gotten a real decent review... If anyone ever says made for manufacturers use...RUN . it means Junk . There are places to be cheap , there are places you can get away with spending less or cutting corners ,healthcare ,tires ,brakes and batteries aren't those places .
Chinese batteries stink ... Japan makes and has always made the best batteries in the world ..
only buy batteries that are made in Japan .... and you'll be a happy camper :p
I bought 20 Panasonics for $41 shipped that's hard to beat
Kids .. this is the deal on batteries ... they are unprotected ..So don't put them in the toaster or play crazy lets experiment games with them .. show some respect to these and they will probably impress you .. the price is unbeatable
Buying 18650's on eBay is a serious gamble. Sounds very similar to the fake Trustfire flames from last year. The scary thing is that somebody is buying these and not realizing just how awful they are (and potentially hazardous). I'm guessing for there to be so many different battery types under the wrapper that maybe they are taking them out of old laptops or something? To me the lesson isn't to buy some better brand, it is to only buy from sellers that are known to be good.
This just keeps getting better! I completly frogot I had ordered these batteries from another seller about 6 weeks ago and they just showed up. These where unprotected Ultrafire 3000mah. I had planned on making a battery pack out of them. I charged 2 of them and got a whopping 70mah at 1A out of one and 5mah out of the other! I decided to stop charging and discharging these batteries since they could be unsafe.
They where wrapped in the standard ultrafire wrapper but under it was a thick tough black plastic sleeve. I had to get the xacto knife out and cut at it for about 5 miniutes to get it off. Once the plastic is off they are much thinner than a standard 18650. So what the heck are these from? These look to be recycled also, they had 4 spotwelds in the center of the negative end where they where wired to packs. New endcaps where put on to make it look new.
