Lumintop SD10 1D cell flashlight

Unless the battery carrier is set up to run them in parallel. Hopefully some more info will surface.

The carrier is the common cheap carrier which is a series configuration, just look at it, 2 springs on side 1 on the other.

You’re right. I just enlarged the picture and noticed the and - symbols on the top of the carrier.

thats why I said 1.5v to 4.5v………

1d =1.5v
3aa series (could even be 3aaa) = 4.5v

li-ions fall in between, its going to depend how good the driver is and as pointed out, the battery carrier does look like the cheap poor carriers.

there’s also been to my knowledge, not one decent output 1.5 - 4.5v driver in a budget light.

Finally got some info on it. It’s only 200lm with a D cell, but with a 7.2 hr runtime… I could live with that.

Description
SD10 is one of the world’s smallest, lightest and brightest 32650 searchlight. It is compatible with a wide range of batteries through intelligent control, and thus it has different outputs based on different battery types. It ensures not only enough brightness but also product stability and long runtime. With premium CREE XM-L2 T6 LED, its output reaches up to 800 lumens.

Construction:

  1. Coated tempered window resists impact.
  2. Aerospace aluminum uni-body design combined with a stainless steel retaining ring offers superior impact resistance. Mil-Spec hard-anodized. O-ring Sealed.
  3. Front side switch.
  4. Superb heat release system provides excellent heat transport capacity.
  5. Slip-resistant body design.
  6. Lengthened lanyard hole with tail-standing design.

Operation:
A. OFF State:
Press and hold the front side switch for more than 0.5 seconds to turn on the light, while another press for 0.5 seconds will turn the light off.
B. ON State:
Click the front side switch to switch between 3 output modes: High, Medium and Low. Double click the switch to enter into Strobe mode, after another click, the light will go back to original brightness. It memorizes last brightness level when the light is turned off, while Strobe will not be memorized.

that actually sounds like a reasonable spec to me, good find.

3 AA's or a D or a 32650. I've been wanting a 32650 light. I already have a charger for it. Side clickie, anodized threads and lanyard hole too. Please let this be budget friendly.

That really is a nice looking light. 8)

I definitely want one

HKE may be selling it soon.

Do want :stuck_out_tongue:

I just got a response from them that it's in stock now. $53 shipped. $2 more for tracking.

The price is low enough that I'll almost certainly get one if a better deal doesn't come along, but high enough that it can wait for a little while.

Likewise, Stanley also told me SD10 just arrived, US$53

Now would like to fish for a good 32650 Li-Ion batt, any recommendation ?

I'd recommend the Feilong at Fasttech, but they're out of stock.

I came across this earlier. No name battery, so I don't expect much. It might be the same as this cell at DX, except for about half the price. That doesn't make it good. We don't know.

There also the Trustfire 32650. From what I've seen, Trustfire flames are okay batteries with consistent quality.

Hmm, I think I can wait for FT to restock Feilong Li-Ion while toying SD10 with two AA to D converter which I have now, or Feilong LiFePo4 ?

Seems very versatile this light, defo on my watch list

i really like this one

and i have 2x feilong 32650s too… 100 lumen for 26 hours is pretty cool

This is looking good. I already have too many lights incoming, but if I ever see this thing in a good discount I might not be able to resist…

Very interesting indeed!

Well, hell... I guess I had better go call them and see if I can't get one for "review". Off to get the phone...

Well, maybe email. I forgot I can't do international calls.

Group buy anyone? OMG, not another group buy.

I am definitely going to contact these people now.

I sent them an email today, so possibly I will get a response on Monday, (sunday in the wee hours). I would like to get hold of one and see what it's like.
