Custom SkyRay King SRK Driver

well I was paying attention and reading every new post, the hardware was ready long time ago but then came the UI experimenting, every second post started with “I now changed …” and it was kind of exhausting to follow all that…
Perfect one-button interface would for me be DrJones mobydrv interface but with 2 changes:

- long press for instant power off and

  • ability to toggle mode memory on and off so it would return to previously used mode after powering it off (if mode memory is active) or start from first mode (if mode memory is deactivated)
and since you are using more advanced MCU with more I/O capabilities you could add SMD led diode as battery status indicator or/and you could add a second button (or 2-stage button)…

It has instant power-off by long press. Also has the ability to control mode memory. There is a blinky mode that blinks out the battery voltage and temperature.

When the battery voltage falls below 3.0V, the light blinks two and the light level cuts in half. The reduced load causes the battery voltage to rise and the process repeats each time the battery hits 3.0V. When it gets so low that it can no longer produce light, the light shuts off.

so then, when it will be available for buying  and of course for how much :money_mouth_face:

this. I’ve been throwing money and my screen but no custom driver has arrived yet

Better grab an umbrella, Jamie's making it rain on this driver.

Any chance on making a driver that can be run from 12VDC? I’d like to use a SRK on my son’s dirtbike for a headlight since he likes to ride a little past dark.

Please tell us that this is something you plan selling? I don’t think you stated you would? And how much would such an intricate driver cost?

My biggest gripe with my SRK is the lack of a medium mode. The question I guess is how much is a medium mode worth for my SRK.

Gosh. I don’t have a SRK but want this driver… What’s wrong with me :stuck_out_tongue:

thats me. im waiting to make sure i have a driver in hand before i buy a SRK

+1

Wow! Excellent work tp. Like everyone else here, I’m anxious to purchase a couple.

I’m in for one, aswell.

(I don’t have a SRK yet, but once things are clear, I’ll get one. The only thing that kept me from buying one was the stupid stock driver …
Do you have a reliable source for SRKs?)

P.S.: Is there any chances of getting a driver like this for the Kung? If so, I would go crazy

For a Kung, you would need to add a separate 8x7135 board for the fourth LED. These are most easily made from a single mode Nanjg 105C driver board.

Any Plans on an 8 * 15 AMC7135 Driver for the http://kaidomain.com/product/details.S022097 ? :)

Nope, it;s a multi-cell light… not compatible with AMC7135 chips…

My 2x18350/8x7135/6v MTG2 light is shocked to hear that it shouldn't exist :O

Should work with any 3.x V LEDs. You could parallel the outputs and drive a single LED at 6 or 9A.

One note on SST-90. It has a fairly high Vf even when driven at only 3A (3.47V after ten seconds or so). An XM-L is right around 3.2V at 3A, XM-L2 is 150mV or so higher.
The result on and SST-90 will be an early drop-out of regulation.
At 6A, the SST-90 Vf is 3.65V.
Note: These were tested on actual emitters I had mounted on a heatsink.

can’t wait until it finished

It depends on how much quality you want and if you'll swap the emitters and MCPCB's.

The CNQ/FFL SRK is considered the highest quality and comes with XM-L2 U2's. That might even save you money if you reflow them onto better stars. This is the way to go if you want the best SRK you can build.

I believe the Fandyfire UV-S5 is the highest quality SRK clone from Fasttech, but you'll probably want to replace the LED's and stars.

Fasttech has less expensive SRK clones. From what I gather, compared to the real SRK, the big differences are the clickie may not be as reliable and the threads aren't as smooth. If you just want the form factor and the driver, I think this is the way to go.

Another option might be the Supfire M6. It might use the same 46mm driver, which will make installing texaspyro's driver a perfect fit. The bad news is Supfire can't give us a solid answer, so it might actually be a 50mm driver, which I think will be MUCH more difficult than trying to install a 17mm driver in a 22mm pill. The M6 also uses old emitters. There's currently a group buy that has the M6 at $33 shipped. This could be a very nice choice if texaspyro is willing to make a wider version of this driver and if the emitters and stars are upgraded.
