Share your Wallbuys RMA experiences here!

I thought it would be nice to have a dedicated thread about RMA and return experiences with the controversial vendor Wallbuys. Despite the fact that its account is banned here, there is a lot of activity on the Wallbuys threads here and here.

Despite the cheap price, members have encountered some problem with customer service and the inferior quality of lights, possibly fake.

Wallbuys seems to be selling “premium” brand lights well below the MAP price, and is even in competition with FastTech with its prices. What’s the catch? Well, there have been some issues with customer service, especially the reluctance to accept returns for defective and/or fake items.

So in order for future customers to know what they’re truly dealing with, not only the hot deals but also RMA experiences and the quality of customer service, why don’t you guys share your experiences with them, specifically regarding returns?

Here’s my take:
I have ordered a SRT7 during the instant kill sale June 11th, 2013. It arrived fairly quickly, on the 19th. It’s a decent light with an infinitely variable brightness dial along with RGB LED’s, and the fit and finish was excellent, as expected from a light of this caliber. However, I noticed some initial problems with the light: it would randomly switch modes, even if I was not touching the dial. The problem because gradually worse over the few days, and I emailed Cherry at Wallbuys about it on the first of July, adhering to the RMA procedure.

She replied within 10 hours asking for a video proof of the random mode switching, but didn’t answer my question of whether I will reimbursed for my return shipping. So I sent her a video footage and asked my question again. She then replied that the video didn’t clearly show the problem, and asked me to upload a new one, and again ignored my question. So I took another video and asked the question for the third time.

Her reply:

At this stage, I was fairly irritated that she was trying to evade the problem.
The issue got worse as the light stopped working all together, and I said that it probably was a driver problem.

Her reply:

This was pretty familiar, as she had suggested gavrook to go repair it himself.

As you guys all know, Nitecore locks down its lights and it’s pretty difficult to open them up for modding, so I told her that replacing the driver wasn’t a viable option.

Hopefully my situation turns out well like gavrook’s, where Nitecore replaced the light and Wallbuys reimbursed his shipping.

Any suggestions or comments would be vastly helpful, and I hope this has given you a better sense of how Wallbuys is as a vendor. Please share your RMA experiences as well!

Just thought I’d update you on how my RMA turned out.

I ended up sending the TM26 back to Wallbuys, not Nitecore, at Cherry’s request. And as stated they did indeed refund the shipping amount.

Despite sending it via registered post they claimed it hadn’t arrived (registered international isn’t sender trackable, just provides proof of shipping and signature on arrival), so had to go back to Australia Post to get them to track it down. They advised attempted delivery was made but no one would sign for it so it was waiting at a post office for over a week, they gave me the post office number, which I then provided to Cherry who got it collected from the Post office.

She then advised they would contact Nitecore to see how long repair would take, they told her 2-4 weeks so she arranged for a replacement to be sent. By this time it was almost at the 45 day paypal limit so I raised a dispute to cover myself, which Cherry didn’t seem to like, but I promised that it would be closed once the replacement was received and was only done to cover myself which she understood.

The replacement arrived literally on the last day before I had to raise it to a claim before the dispute was closed and worked fine so as promised the dispute was closed.

Overall despite the language barrier communication was quite good with fairly quick replies and the outcome was good. This experience hasn’t stopped me ordering from them and have since spent almost $1000 there over multiple orders (damn RC40 and their 25% coupon making me spend money i shouldn’t…). Lately their orders are arriving much quicker than Fasttech’s even, not to mention the prices now beimg much better!

I think the lesson is if you have an issue make sure it’s spelt out to the point and clearly, I was asked to upload multiple videos too but advised it was about as good as i could show the issue (OLED screen was dead, not much more to show) Be cooperative and don’t jump straight to the paypal dispute but don’t let it get past your 45 day cut off point.

Just confirms to me that the AVOID tag is well placed.

Gavrook, thank you so much for sharing your side of the story.

It’s really good to hear that everything worked our well with your TM26, as it is a fairly expensive light.

Woody, you’re spot on. They seem eager only to sell, and not care about CS too much. :~

When I received that crappy Mystery Triple skyray output was very dim and a quick chat to Cherry on Skype and a video of the problem , I got a refund immediatly.
Another problem I had was that the 4*XML bike light driver crapped itself and same thing , contacted Cherry on Skype and a video , 2 new drivers were sent to me and received a couple weeks later

Wow, seems like you had a relatively good experience with them.

I wonder what’s causing the inconsistency… is it the fact that the flashlights are from Nitecore? :~

I wouldn’t say Avoid at all, just be prepared for a little bit of work if you have an issue. If you have no problems with your product then they’re great. Cheapest prices around and very fast shipping.

EDIT: Just tallied up all my purchases on Wallbuys and 29’th of April I’ve spent over $1300 (way too bloody much!!! Even more than I’ve spent at fasttech!) there, with the first purchase being the TM26 and it was the only issue i’ve had so far, all others have been purchased since and no other problems yet.

I had good experience with them.
Bought a Archon M60L on earlier kill buys. Upon arrival. It could not work. Uploaded a video and Cherry accepted the issue.
She refunded me the Full costing that I used to offset an Olight M22.

Even better, i was so silly to scratch my m22 reflector whilst conducting a failed attempt to clean off some dirt. I emailed Cherry for assistance. As the product was too new, Olight have yet to sell the spare reflectors.

Eventually, wallbuys managed to help me obtain a new reflector directly from olight and shipped it over to me.

It was pleasant and satisfactory. Service beyond expectation.

Wow, that’s pretty good customer service, lucky you!
Did you have to return the Archon light?

My experience with Wallbuys have been slightly mitigated by Cherry’s reply that Nitecore would repair the light for me, and asked for the cost of return shipping. So far, this is looking good, and I hope she does reimburse me.

One thing I pointed out was that Nitecore’s warranty states that lights will be replaced if they are defective within 18 months. (Or am I asking for too much? :open_mouth: )

Edit: Good news, Wallbuys has provided me a return address and promised to reimburse my shipping.

not happy with them, my faulty items (longfire rf-x6s and battery pack for bike light) have been very hard to get replaced. too tired to write it down now though…

I wonder whether Wallbuys are an authorised Nitecore dealer.

I had a problem with the same Mystery triple and she offered me a coupon for the vipinstantkill value 5 cents. She then offered to send me a new driver. I accepted and she sent me a driver which did not fit or even work because it needed at least two batteries and the 3 batteries run parallel. At this point I modded the carrier to serial used the mystery driver as a slave and now have a nice light that does not have a side switch. Which kinda stinks. But at least it’s bright. I found the mystery driver last night on e-bay and it’s a 7amp driver for a SST-90. Who thought a 7amp driver for an SST that needs at least two batteries would fit or work is beyond me.

At that point I didn’t bother bugging her because my other lights showed up and they were great deals so they more than made up for it and I didn’t need any more frustration.

Great prices, fast shipping and the worst customer service ever. Seriously she offered me a five cent code!

My first order from Wallbuys was for way back in December of last year. It never did show up. When I asked for a refund or for them to ship a new light they said they would ship a new light if it didn’t arrive on a certain date. It didn’t arrive so I contacted them and they told me to wait some more and that everyone else was waiting so I should be more patient. I filed a paypal claim and they told me they couldn’t give me a refund because I filed the claim. I escalated to a full dispute and they refunded the money. But it took a lot of trouble and I swore I wouldn’t buy from them unless they got their spit together. Well everyone seemed to be getting their lights so I tried again and although I have gotten my lights I have had another problem that really wasn’t properly resolved but I made it work.

Buy at your own risk, that is my advice. If you have a problem there is a very good chance that you will have to fight with them before they will make it right.

Oh and one other order was for one of their cheap knives and they were out of stock on it so they sent me two cheap knives neither of which I really wanted. But less than a buck I wasn’t going to fuss with it. Turned out I liked one of the two and my wife liked the other. I asked them what was up and they said they sent me an e-mail. Turns out they did, because when I went looking it was in my spam folder.

Personally I think there are about four Cherry’s and they don’t do a good job communicating with anyone including each other. That or there is one Cherry and she has a split personality and doesn’t know what her other personalities have said or agreed to. That or the more likely scenario is that they simply think that putting you off by playing stupid will get you to go away.

My first complaint is that they sent me fully functional flashlights at very low prices. To top it off, the lights worked well without the usual assembly line issues typical of budget lights. No issues like loose pills that cause random mode switches and such. These type of issues are easy to fix and are part of why we can get great prices. I feel so ripped off because I want to have something to fix in every light I purchase. Luckly, I buy from other reputable vendors that satisfy that need.

Thankfully, they did send me one light that had missing components on the driver. I informed them of the problem and they asked for pictures. I sent pictures. They asked if I would be able to repair the light if they sent me a replacement driver. I said yes and they promptly sent me replacement. I am so disappointed that their customer service seems to be just as good as their low prices.

Good thing there are threads like this that point out problems common to all budget vendors. I feel better about Walbuys now. Wonder what I will buy from them next?

I am sure we are all glad that you have had a good experience. However, that doesn’t discount the fact that others have not.

I will continue to buy from them. I will also continue to support this forum because it gives people good advice and people should know the good as well as the bad.

Thanks for letting us know about your experience. Perhaps next time you can do it with a little less sarcasm and rudeness.

Like you, I used sarcasm to make a point.

I agree that the good and bad should be discussed. I respect you 18sixfifty. I appreciate your many great contributions to this forum. I, however, unapologetically stand by my above statement.

Ok no problem, off topic but did you see that you had won one of the lights from Aurabuy? Congrats.

Good point, as a lot of their lights seem to be under the MAP. I hope they don’t get into trouble like FT did. :frowning:

I have made 2 orders from wallbuys.

1st order:
Archon M30A
Off center emitter, they suggested I take it to a electrician to get it fixed (despite the $90 per hour rates here in 1 hour blocks) and offered $3 off my next order.
I made a PayPal dispute then wallbuys gave my money back without having to go through the whole process of a claim.
Currently a friend on BLF has it and will fix it, but it costs about $12+ postage each way to fix it for a $30 light (although I did get refunded for the cost).

2nd order:
Sunwayman R10A
Constant flickering on high, they suggested I take it to a electrician (same as above) but I refused for the same reasons.
They tried to offer me a VIP membership as compensation which I also refused.
I contacted Sunwayman about it and they said they will contact wallbuys and make sure they send me a replacement.
I dont have to send the faulty light back as I sent a video of the problem and that was enough for them.
Wallbuys ended up agreeing to sending a replacement before Sunwayman had contacted them.
Wallbuys will be sent a free replacement by Sunwayman for the faulty flashlight.

Overall not a good experience, but I haven’t lost anything either.

I can’t really blame wallbuys for the manufacturer having faulty lights but it could have been simpler to make things right.

I would shop with them again if I see a good deal even with those experiences.

They are trying to make the customer happy even if they are beating around the bush and exploring other options at first.

I had a shadow it`s in the hands of paypal now
