This sounds fantastic!
Will it be possible to "limit" the maximum current through software to make it suitable for XP-E/G or Nichia 219 for those who don't want 3A output?
I hope you can find a way to sell or patent this to some of the manufacturers who continue to offer that crappy H-L-S option.
Oh! Nice!
This may be a noob question but is it possible to stack additional AMC7135 chips in it?

I imagine you could just keep high mode set to 6 chips, or what ever you want max
You had me at the 4th bullet. You are a driver god to whip this baby up in short order! The only way it could be better is to make an optional version that works with an electronic switch. You are the MAN!!
Can't wait to see it finished. I'm in for at least one and probably several depending on price. ;)

Johnny, check out the 8th bullet
In for a handful!
Edit: This is seriously the best announcement all year. Trumps the XM-L2 hands down. PilotPTK you are my idol.

You might want to make it a smidge over 17mm so it can be used in press-fit aluminum bodies. Sand to fit…

Wow. You are certainly one clever bugger. Nice work does not say what you have done justice.

Maybe, but wanting to know if there is way of noobie/kid-proofing it?
Wow!
This driver sounds awesome!!!
I’d be in for anywhere from 2-5 depending on the price.
Frickin awesome. :D
So.. it would also be possible to adress individual LEDs? Running light on quads or triples for example?
I'm pretty sure I'm in for one.
How many extra chips can be stacked on it? 8, 12, 16, before there is an issue? I'm thinking of those guys that like to hod rod everything.
Sounds really fantastic so far. Great accomplishment.

As it is now, I doubt that would work as that would require a ton of extra output pads, but I imagine with some careful soldering that could be done.

I'm pretty sure that would be like a normal 7135 driver, as many as you can fit on it. ;)
There is always some soldering involved. ;)

Exactly what I have in mind when I was doing my DIY driver.
If only you can place the USB connector on the VBat spring side so that you don’t have to remove the driver to re-program. Love it!
