The World's Most Advanced AMC7135 * 8 Driver

WOOHOO!! Not sure how I overlooked that one.

Woohoo! Christmas comes early. Way to go Dallas!

Wow. You are certainly one clever bugger. Nice work does not say what you have done justice.

Maybe, but wanting to know if there is way of noobie/kid-proofing it?

Wow!

This driver sounds awesome!!!

I’d be in for anywhere from 2-5 depending on the price.

Frickin awesome. :D

So.. it would also be possible to adress individual LEDs? Running light on quads or triples for example?

I'm pretty sure I'm in for one.

How many extra chips can be stacked on it? 8, 12, 16, before there is an issue? I'm thinking of those guysUndecided that like to hod rod everything.

Sounds really fantastic so far. Great accomplishment.

As it is now, I doubt that would work as that would require a ton of extra output pads, but I imagine with some careful soldering that could be done.

I'm pretty sure that would be like a normal 7135 driver, as many as you can fit on it. ;)

There is always some soldering involved. ;)

Exactly what I have in mind when I was doing my DIY driver.
If only you can place the USB connector on the VBat spring side so that you don’t have to remove the driver to re-program. Love it!

This and texaspyro's SRK driver are going to make me very happy with my flashlights.

depend on it price maybe i’ll take 1

Wow! That's great news!

Please put me down for some, like 5-10, of these. Depending on the price, of course. :)

When the price isn't mentioned, I always assume the worst... but if it's around some number which I am not going to mention lest it be ridiculously over or under the actual you can count me in for some as-yet unspecified quantity.

What's next? Programmable 12-18v buck driver? (please?) 0:)

That is a fantastic driver for almost every need. But my first thought was: when every 7135 is individually controlled, by cutting some traces this can custom control the color mce/xml

Yes, absolutely. You can turn on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 Full AMC7135s plus run the 8th one between OFF and ON in 1024 increments (PWM).

Yes. You can stack them.

See the 8th Bullet Point. Already included.

I suppose I'm not entirely opposed to this, but how many hosts really use a 17mm driver with a Press Fit? I'd hate to make everyone sand their driver just in order to support the very odd press-in host..

I don't have a single light that uses a 17mm Press-In Driver. What's the community consensus?

PPtk

It's not impossible, but the big problem would be physical wiring. Because of all the 'stuff' on this board, it is JAM PACKED. It would also require some custom firmware - this isn't something that would be supported by the stock programming utility.
