If each LED was getting 2.5A as claimed, that would mean somewhere between 5.0-7.5A current draw from the cells, considering that the driver is a proper buck driver with a decent efficiency. 2.5A to each LED would be ideal, but as seen with the SRK’s, there can be a lot of variability from revision to revision or manufacturers.
I’m assuming that all the 50 or so of the M6’s will be from the same batch, so a proper current measurement probably will be consistent with other M6’s that we receive.
I was able to run my SRK with 4, 3, 2, and with careful battery positioning, 1 18650 cell, and the battery holder for this M6 looks basically the same, so I believe so.
I measured my parasitic drain to be about 1.5mW, but that’s not a current I was comfortable with so I locked it out by turning it about 30 degrees, for the threads were anodized. Judging from the pictures of the M6, I also think the threads are anodized and thus allow the light to be locked out.
I’m willing to chip in to cover the DHL fees for the’s review.
If Supfire could cover that, it would be a strong cornerstone towards building their brand image.
It all depends on the manufacturer and their ability to make (late) fixes / changes based on our feedback:
- defects found in review & manufacturer makes no fixes => failed GB, everyone unhappy, including the manufacturer
- defects found in review & manufacturer fixes the defects => everyone happy (except that it takes time -> some people are annoyed)
- no defects found in review & no fixes needed => delay, some people annoyed
im not so sure they are going to make late fixes or changes depending on the review to be honest. and i am also not sure they really are positive of the dimensions and specs. but either way i am in for one unless the GB falls through
the plan was to offer _the_ to pay his $33 as agreed by the group buy, and for the review they upgrade for free to DHL. not sure if they will agree or not
it is what it is but I still find this request from them a bit silly, since laser engraving is one of the last if not the last phase of manufacturing only thing after that is final quality control (if there is any) and packaging, they could just skip engraving step, light without any inscription is better then light with inscription that I don’t understand.
But, as I said, it is what it is, can’t force them, one day they will realise/learn by themselves…
like i have said before, im pretty sure we are getting the very first run of this model. no retailers have gotten it yet. they said they had just completed the first of them last month and they are just now getting ready to market it. i just happened to find it right when they first posted it up i guess
Sorry for coming late into the party. Anyway, the way I understand it is for the group to buy the $33 light, have it delivered to the for review, know its innards before the whole group plunge into this GB?
If I understand it correctly to be so, (and befor anything else, let it be known that I have no idea about modding), I am volunteering to buy the light from Supfire for $33, then have it addressed to the for review. If the more experienced modders among us here will also volunteer to mod this light for free, then hopefully in the end I get a souped-up M6, the modder/taker gets to experiment with this light, (I can help defray the costs) everyone gets to know this light before taking the plunge, I take as much risk as buying an SRK clone of a clone. If this is fair enough please let me know. If not then I apologize for disturbing the peace!
if the can get it DHL then that only means roughly a one week wait delay and thats not a big deal. in one week they arent going to make a 2nd generation or have knock off knock offs………
