Sneak Preview: XinTD X3 (XM-L2 | 3xAA / 1x26650 / 1x18650)

Yes, that ten lumen low for extended time is a very nice safety feature. I'm becoming very tempted...

the, as usual, nice and informative review.

But you people have to stop doing this to me. I have just donated another $45 to Mr. Hank Wang’s bank balance

Wow this looks great. These should be the standard mode spacings on all lights.

the thanks! Looks super on AA

That photo is a bit misleading.. The spring mod is only on battery carrier negative spring. Doesn't help 26650 usage. [Frankly, doesn't help lot in AA usage either - rumor says Hank is even going to remove it from further versions]

It should be noted that it really is negative spring. Positive end of the carrier doesn't have a spring, which fools me to try to put the carrier in the wrong way around. Carrier spring towards the tailcap is the rule with this light.

As I mentioned earlier, the lens is very clear. Re-checking it now in a direct sunlight shows signs of some kind of coating.

It's not as purple as I have used to see in AR coated lenses, but it shows fingerprints "better" than uncoated lens.

So I decided to test initial OTF lumens with and without the lens and the results were good: Lens cuts only 1.6% (13lm) and performs like an coated lens should.

I think I need to admit my mistake: The lens has (some kind of) AR coating and it performs well.

Sorry about causing unnecessary hassle.

No side switch?
(nothing is wrong with this light, just that I might be too picky…)

no, i prefer side switch lights too that would have been icing on the cake

that said, i think i bought one days after it was released

I have a lense just like that the its in the oem d5, no sign on the specs of coating, never noticed for MONTHS it was coated, went to take a picture one day and spotted it, now I don’t know how I missed it.

Getting really eager to get this light now.

Thanks for clarifying the.
Glad to hear it is a good AR coated lens.

This X3 looks like a real winner. Thanks for the review.

Sorry. Won't fit. :(

I used King Kong 4000mAh in my tests and (as unprotected) it worked fine. Now I tried TF 26650 "5000mAh" and that's too long at 68.5mm. Same applies to XTAR 18700.

What about the 18650? Has anyone tried that?

"3*NiMH, 1*26650 or 1*18650 (only works with the length under 67mm"

I didn't think about this when ordering . Might have to sell mine.

just imagining, how does this X3 compared to shadow JM26 either in 26650 or 18650?
the pricing is so near…

If protected batteries won't fit this one than I would say the JM26

hmmmm... the fact that TFF 26650s do not fit kind of sucks, as my only 26650s are protected TFF... need more anyways, this is my 3rd 26650 light with only two cells

the, do you have the jm26? if so how do they compare?

No ,but if this light will not fit ANY of my batteries other than AA's than it really is of no use to me. I have plenty of AA lights. My goal is to have lights that do not need proprietary batteries. I liked this light because I mistakenly thought it would run of every battery I had. I have 10 18605's and 8 25650's and none will fit this light .

It's my fault for not reading and comprehending !

As I said its my fault I should have read the description more carefully. I just ASS-U-ME D that, as well thought out this light was, it would fit protected cells.

we want some beamshot please

i’ve been tempted over this xintd x3 or xintd c8 v4.
