Well today they came(I found them on aliexpress for 2,5$ piece):
I have thought that they are common Nanjg 105C drivers like single stage drivers on intl-outdoors…
But they don’t look like that… Can you guys inspect this and tell your opinion?
They came with 22 AWG wires
There is no Nanjg 105C sign here
Well since they came with 22 AWG wires rated at 80 Celsius what should I do? Should I keep them and not touch anything or to replace them with 18AWG from int-outdoors?
18AWG VS 22AWG wire
I have been think something… I could crimp stock 22 wire at the solder joint and merge it with 18AWG wire use some solder paste + Fujik to secure joint… What do you think? Something like this:
I think I will mess it up :)… I have bad soldering iron - it is Hakko 936(clone probably) from ali express and I have great heat transfer issues with smaller tips… Driving me crazy…
This looks much easier to me (krimp 22AWG at the bottom of + - and merge it with 18 AWG (using fingers), add some solder paste on joint, little touch of soldering iron.
Plenty of guys also claims that there are no benefit of soldering 18AWG wire but I think it can not harm to build and whole thing will be more sturdy. and shock resistant.
The heat issue is probably the tips themselves, not the soldering iron.
Unless you need to extend the wires, I’d just leave the 22AWG wires and use them. For an 8x7135 driver, that will be fine.
Unless your planning to pimp it up with handsful of chips, 22AWG 16 an excellent gauge for that driver. If it came with 26AWG, I would have told you to switch to 22.
Search ebay for '936 tips'. Lots of hits, lots of 10-piece assortments of different styles. Tips don't last forever, once they start getting hard to keep nicely tinned it's time to toss them.
I have used ~1.5" long 22AWG silicone wires for nine amps at around 7 volts. Roughly 6 times the wattage as a single XML at 3 amps. 22AWG is fine for most any flashlight that doesn't melt the flesh off your hand after 2 minutes run time.
Are you saying that those 10 different styles are all the same as the one style you already have? Does not compute. Too weird. I'm going to bow out of this one, good luck.
If it is genuine Hakko 936 tips you want, then search for those and hope that the seller has legit Hakko tips. If you get them from Digikey, they will be legit.
