18500 lifepo free to a good home

found it in one of the battery recycling bins at work, tests out fine to ~860mAh on my hobby charger (original spec 1000mAh, couple of years old). Looks like it came from some kind of lawn lamp, doesn’t look protected but that’s just a guess.

Anyway, I can’t think of anything I can use if for and I have a fridge salad drawer full of liion cells anyway, so I’d rather it go to someone that will use it. Just in the US, otherwise postage gets prohibitive, sorry. First PM gets it

BLF users are the best

 It’s just been sent to it’s new home, glad to find someone who can use it and keep it out of the recyclers/ landfill!

Thanks again for sending it to me matt! I think the 18500 will be a direct drop in replacement for anything that uses a 3xAAA carrier, but I hope I find a host that can use it and the 2xAA mag module I got from old-lumens. the volatege of 1 LiFePO4 is about perfect for 2 alky setups.

you’re welcome! Glad it’s going to be used and it helps pay back some of the generosity I’ve experienced on her. I’m keen to see what you’re going to use it in. Never thought to use it in a 3AAA light, that’s a great idea.

Don’t hold your breath as my mod skills are mediocre at best. I will report back here with a few pics of what uses I find for it when I get it. Thanks again.

I put a lifePo4 18500 into one those Costco Techlite 3xaaa lights, seems fine. Needed a small 7mm x 1or 2mm magnet, thin insulating washer to keeping magnet from falling off to the side, and a little cardboard wrap.

If you have a Rook, it will probably work in that if it can clear the cell dividers.

Thanks for the tips. I will have to see what else I can find.

Cheers mattthemuppet!

Here’s the mule I made with this cell. Thanks again!

great job and you’re very welcome
