Lumintop SD10 1D cell flashlight

i seem to buy lights and batteries as if ill be without light for 3 weeks…

anyone else have this problem?

ill run out of food and water after 3-5 days but ill be able to see at night! woo

Lol! Sounds like you need to jump over to "Budget Food Forum".

I don't have a EA4. Nothing came with it but a box, O-Ring and a Silver lanyard.

if enough of us ask hank, i bet he will get a surplus of the x3 carrier. i know i would be in for a couple more and already told him

“A couple more” carriers does sound like a good start… i like your style.

jmpaul: I’m the same way… Not near enough water and food. Need to get on that! Don’t want those packaged freeze dried meal things though. Yuk

Hmm! I really like this one. FINALLY a nice looking 1D light, and it even works with 3xAA and Li-Ion.

I assume this runs ok on an alkaline D cell? Do you think the lumen rating and output are rated on alkaline use?

1×32650
10lm / 280h
100lm / 26h
800lm / 7.5h

3×AA
10lm / 150h
100lm / 15h
500lm / 6h

1×D
2lm / 60days
30lm / 80h
200lm / 7.2h

Like the idea for an extender too!

What I meant was, is this light rated 200 lumens for 7.2hrs on an alkaline D cell or NiMh D cell?

-Garry

Ah sorry mate. Gotcha now.

If I had to guess I would assume they used alkies purely because they are far more common. It seems like D capability is more of an added perk for emergencies with this light, rather than a main power source.

I would expect slightly less output on NiMh.

Will this light live up to its runtime claims?

3×AA
10lm / 150h
100lm / 15h
500lm / 6h

1×D
2lm / 60days
30lm / 80h
200lm / 7.2h

I suspect they are using alkie and the hours seem long. They might be counting the slow run down as they fade out.

I don’t want to live in a world where there are only D cells. This seems to be a real ‘end times’ flashlight.

It certainly has that potential.

Think it will run good with NiMh too. I don’t have any NiMh D cells, but plan to run eneloops when not running li-ions. It’s always nice to have options… the more the better!

I the “end times” there will only be C cells left.

lol probly right…. maybe a few 9 volts too :stuck_out_tongue:

GAH!!! Who knew?! :open_mouth:

i got mine

its great

any battery i have will fit

18650, 26650, 32650, 3x aaa, 1x D, 1x C

talk about a doomsday light

very good output on 3x eneloops, im guessing around 500 lumen otf

Nice! By any chance do you have a Nitecore EA4 or a SWM D40A to compare it with?

What is the average capacity of good name brand alkaline D cells? I know you can order good LSD D cell NiMH’s with ~10,000mAh but off the shelf your lucky to find energizer 5000’s.

Because of the pretty simple UI and different cell capability I’m thinking this will be a great light to recommend to non-flashlight people so I figure they’re not gonna put much research into battery choice, what would they be better off with, ~5000mAh (rated so most likely less actual) NiMH’s or name brand alkaline’s? [forget about the one-time use vs. rechargeable aspect, what ones will be longest running?]
