Where does it claim that? I see Canadian development and engineering, some American and Japanese electronic components, but nothing about where it’s manufactured. That seems more honest than their closest competitor.
1. any wizard bought BEFORE the 18th will not come with the updated UI?
Question 2. after which date should we buy to guarantee we are getting UI 1.5
Question 3. are ALL warm versions manufactured with the Updated UI 1.5?
Question 4. Does the UI 1.5 also reduce the reported PWM flicker in moonlight?
thanks in advance for a response to this!
1. Yes, all Wizards with the new UI will be after the current promotion.
2. There are not exact terms yet. We will inform you here as soon as the Wizard headlamps will be updated.
3. The current warm version of Wizard is not with the updated UI 1.5
4. The updated version 1.5 will not have the reported PWM flicker in moonlight (firefly mode).
Thank you very much for this succinct and quick response to my questions. More often than not questions are left unanswered.
look forward to the Wizard Pro.
(also going to try my luck again) Will switch pressure remain the same? and is there a way for it to be reduced for those without super finger strength. If this involves irreversible modifications, I am still interested

Will switch pressure remain the same? and is there a way for it to be reduced for those without super finger strength. If this involves irreversible modifications, I am still interested :)
I think this question has already been put forward but I don't believe there are any plans to change it. okwchin, you may find that the switch "softens" a little after some use - a couple of us in the CPF threads felt that it did.
It is also greatly affected by how you place your finger. Direct pressure downwards on the switch yields much better results than being even a little off-center. Try it with the tip of your index finger rather than the wider ball of the thumb for instance and I think you will see what I mean. It took me a few tries to realise just how much difference finger placement could make.
On the other hand, there was also speculation that there may be a variance between units. I don't really subscribe to this theory as I think Armytek's build quality would be pretty consistent, but I guess it may be possible. The problem is that it's a really subjective thing.
The flashlights are developed and engineered by Armytek Optoelectronics Inc., Canada. Made with USA and Japan electronics components. All items are shipped from our storehouse in China. If you are more attentive, you can see about this at our site http://www.armytek.com/support/payment-and-shipping.html[/quote]
I don't mean to be a jerk, maybe I'm missing something, but that doesn't make sense.
You are saying Armytek flashlights are;
1. Engineered in Canada.
2. Assembled in the US. From components manufactured in Japan.
3. End up in warehouse in China.
The first, and last claims I believe, but why in the world would you ship lights back to China after they are made in the US?

My bad, I did misread.
Still, it's kind of an unusual arrangement, and all else aside, does not change the fact that Armytek flashlights are chinese flashlights.
Not that I have any bias against them for that... I own two Armyteks and like them a lot.
I think they are pretty clear with what they dont say. They say that the lights are engineered in Canada MADEWITHUSAANDJAPANELECTRONICCOMPONENTS and shipped from a storehouse in China. That’s actually alot of wiggle room and explains why they ship from China, for example: Using plans made in Canada, one resistor from the USA and a battery from Japan, these items are sent to China where the unit is assembled with remainder Chinese produced parts and stored until sent to the purchaser That’s probably close to the truth, maybe its the circuit board produced in japan, who knows, I’m just saying it sounds like the type of company answer you get to satisfy your question, and its not a lie, but its not specifically telling you the part you dont want to hear, which is probably the majority of parts are made in China and assembled in China. But thats really like most of our lights anyways…
But thats really like most of our lights anyways...
It's hard to think of a flashlight aside from Surefire that isn't made in China. The biggest difference to me is that Armytek actually communicates with their customers and fixes problems with their lights. Those are two reasons why I never bought a right angle light from their most direct competitor.

Yes, this is why I have been waiting for the Wizard headlamp, hoping for a deal comparable to before with a fixed headlamp. And at least SOME parts are US/Canada

As have I. For years. I almost pulled the trigger on a comparable headlamp, but that competitor could not or would not tell their customers what the limits of their battery tube was. My right angle light will be used for very backpacking trips, and my short and long term expectations are quite high. If Armytek didn't have a high level of support, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for this light.
Have you checked out Illumination Supply? Their price is nice, and they are incredibly quick with shipping....nevermind that right now we're waiting on production.
I figure if I want the most American light I can afford, I'll get a Chinese made host, mod and assemble it with a driver developed by BLF members and manufactured in the US. Maybe someday I'll have the skills and money to mill my own host.
Say I’ve gotta quick easy question for ya I hope? Do you have any idea when you might have more lights available with the xm-l2 u3 emitter? I missed out on the few you had in the barracuda. Hopefully soon, id love to be one of the first to push the Amps on one of these and see how they do, please let me know thanks montanaman

What is the difference between the original v1, fixed v1 and v1.5 ?
How do I apply the blf8 and social media discount at checkout ?
What cri is the warm version and beyond the colour, is there any other difference ?
What is the difference between the original v1, fixed v1 and v1.5 ?
The original v1 had a lock-up issue.
Now all bugs are fixed and some changes are made in the temperature indication:
when it increases to +60°C, the color LED shows the warning level once a second.
After +70°C the main LED flashes 5 times. After +75°C the light output decreases to Main4 mode (550lm).
Critical level >+80°C is color indicated twice a second and light output decreases to Firefly2 mode.
It is fixed v1.
The new version 1.5 is being prepared for production now. There will be some UI changes.
There are realized 4 sections of modes and multiple clicks for an access to them.
Section 4:
Battery Voltage Indicator
Fast Strobe
Beacon
When the flashlight is turned OFF:
Click: Will put into the last memorized mode (from Section 1 or Section 2).
Press and Hold: Will put into Mode 1 of Section 1.
Double-click: Will put into Section 2.
Then will switch between the last memorized mode in Section 1 and the last memorized mode in Section 2.
Triple click: Will put into Section 3.
Quad click: Will put into Section 4.
When the flashlight is turned ON:
Click: Switch off.
Press and Hold: Will cycle the modes of actual Section.
Double-click:
Will put into Section 2 from ANY section.
Then will switch between the last memorized mode in Section 1 and the last memorized mode in Section 2.
Triple click:
Will put into Section 3 from ANY section.
Quad click:

The battery type changing:
10 clicks from OFF-state. The headlamp will flash about 3 times a second.
Now you can specify the battery type:

but you would think a canadian company would keep stock of their light for their canadian customers.
