Hi there Nautic, hmmm, this is something I've been meaning to ask out users... I personally find new product and bargain tips very useful. That's how I found out about everybody's darling, the $1.47 "BLF DeLight". If Lightake or anybody else comes out with a new budget product, I don't mind them letting us know via a post with product details. For me, it's nice to have znmzdx around here to ask him personally about some of the products he sells. And if somebody asks a question about a light or posts a link to DX or QCG or whatever, and another dealer can beat their price, I'm happy to know about it. But, I understand that some users here might not appreciate seeing posts from dealers offering their products mixed in with other community discussions who have no vested interest. It might be best to ask dealers to please post their new product promotions in the Want to Sell section of the forum? How about if I put up a poll....

Don't know if the above code is valid or not, but Google can't lie, right? ;)

@znmzdx: Do you think it would make sense if blf users would post product requests for lightake.com?

I for one would like to see these two items on lightake.com:

This flashlight: http://budgetlightforum.cz.cc/node/358

These batteries (they are useful to replace 3*AAA on some flashligts, lots of people want those): http://www.qualitychinagoods.com/ultrafire-rechargeable-protect-batteryb22600-p-1656.html

What do you plan on doing to compensate your customers that bought the counterfeit solarforce lights? You should probably start by answering your emails from past customers, before trying to attract more.

Hi guys, any comment from Daniel on the fake Solarforce lights? I updated the seller profile with some positive comments (sells Mrlite now) and some negative points (sells fake Solarforce). And you guys who have bought products from Lightake, would you mind giving them a 1 to 5 star rating on the little star rating widget on the first post of this thread? Thanks!

This post ranks rather high on Google searches about Lightake, so your opinion counts here. ;)

Sorry if I sound rude but if you really expect any kind of compensation in this case I think china/hk-shopping might not be your thing.

I really can't rate them until I give them a chance to compensate me for selling me a counterfeit Solarforce. I wrote them a day or two ago, and will give them a little time to correct the problem, before passing judgement.

I can assure you that unless you are a major importer of goods from china/hk, I have probably bought and sold more goods from there in the past 30 years, than you could even imagine. It's not that I "expect" them to compensate me for this, as I have no previous dealings with them to base an expectation of actions on. I would "expect" that any legitimate businessman, that plans on staying in business, would want to establish a reputation of honesty and integrity. There has been a long term problem of counterfeit goods flowing out of that region. If we all just sit idly by and let it happen, it's obvious that the problem will only get worse. The least I can do when I encounter these practices, is to point them out, so that others don't get caught by the same scam. A lot of time, I think the sellers like Lightake, aren't even aware that they are selling bogus goods. And trust me, my credit card company will be more than willing to get my money back if/when it comes to that.

WYSIWYG of these shops, period. Pretty honest and upright in my book.

Last time I checked this was a budget flashlight forum, not an anti piracy forum.

Ah, now I know where you're coming from.

Well, that's your perspective, fair enough. But in my opinion it much healthier to drop brand name thinking when buying from hk/china, because it just doesn't have the same meaning over there as in western countries. For me, there is no such thing as a genuine Romisen, because there are probably different Romisen makers in HK anyway (and btw, i did receive a bad quality Romisen rc-f7). HK stuff per se can't be genuine for me (in the context of those free shipping stores, that is).

It's a different story when they offer e.g. "genuine eneloops" and then ship fakes.

For me "eneloops" is the same as "genuine eneloops".

OTOH, if I see "eneloop-type batteries" I know it can be anything. But the previous two are synonyms for me.

I got my shipment from lightake today. So the positives are they shipped pretty quickly (12 days Hong Kong to Atlanta) and for free, it was easy to set up an account and purchase a light, and they take PayPal so you have some protection if the item isn't as described. The item I bought was listed as a Solarforce L2 with extension tube for a second 18650 battery for only $10.82 which is unbelievably low. I even asked Daniel here if it was a genuine Solarforce and he assured me it was. But it is definitely fake. He also sells more expensive Solarforce lights which may be the real thing. I don't know if Daniel realized they were fake, but he should have found out rather than just say it was genuine. As a P60 host, even a fake Solarforce is pretty good, so I'm not going to ask for a discount or my money back, but I'm only giving him 3 stars.
