Hows this for a group buy thread..

Group buys present an opportunity to put the principle of economies of scale to work, however for the organiser(s) its a given that its going to be a nightmare from an organising point of view.

So Hows this for a group buy! - Computer fans.. lots of them!

To put it into context, this is a very much desired computer fan, with average specs on paper, but in real life outperforming whats available on the market with good static pressure (good for radiators), and a very pleasant sound (or lack of). What makes this fan even more special is that its a model that is not normally available through any retail outlets - its a higher RPM model.

So we think we are crazy buying LEDs that have a 'brown' tint... Here we have people buying computer fans that are 4% quieter, and give a 1 deg improvement in temperatures over stock fans!!!

*Ive bought 4.... AND I don't even have a PC yet (using laptop)*

those do look like good fans

i like the design, but shocked at the 92mm , i converted everything to 120mm suppose 92 for CPU heatsinks

what i like best about a group buy idea is that everyone kinda reviews the specs becaus i spend more time then makes sense to get the best thing i can get or get for the money

Pfft... who needs fans? Oh yeah.. me circa 2004. Those are the Yate Loon low speed model. I still use some today and they are just as quiet. That case was darn near silent even with 7 of them (there's one in the back) @ 7v.

Personally these days I find buying a Dell XPS to be a lot more convenient than stocking a garage full of parts.

As for cases, I still have my orange painted one with plexglass sides and 120mm fans where they weren't supposed to be, from the same era before they were available en masse.

Hehehe, ive gone and sourced myself some of the 92mm GT typhoons.. but this group buy is for the 120mm! these days 120mm is the standard, 92 is considered too loud lol!

This was just to show one of the more impressive group buys ive seen. well according to the spreadsheet, about 1800 fans have been paid for, of a total 2100 fans which people had indicated interest to buy. I wonder how much cheaper we can get some XM-L neutrals if we ordered 2K units... Actually its probably not That much cheaper for emitters...
