I just got in another J-19 this time from Fast Tech and just to let people know it has the same junky driver that came with the two I got from Wallbuys. 4.8amp trustfire driver. Great Host though, same quality on that part. I’ll post some side by side pictures tonight one modded with De-domed XM-L2 U2’s and the IO driver for three cells that runs direct drive on high and the other stock.

I wouldn’t buy the IO driver for this mod or any mod for that matter. At least not if they are all like mine. It overheats easy and freezes up although you do have to keep in on high for a long time before it freezes and just turn it off for a bit and you are back in business. Still though unless PMW is a big deal for you just buy the DRY.

Oh and the modded light has 20 gauge wire on everything including the driver itself.

that is quite a bit of difference from stock. does not look like you lost any lumens or flood/spill from the dedoming either

Oh heck no going from 4.8a to 3x king kongs direct drive is a huge leap in power. A single King kong direct drive with 20 gauge wire would kill a XM-L2 if it’s not on copper.

Very roasty. There must be crook firmware in the IOS drivers. I still don’t know if anyone has tried the 9 amp driver from Lck Led. I dont want to spend $15.00 on another driver if its no good.
