5.75A to emitters TK70!

5.75 to each led?

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Throw should be very high on this one

Like! :)

Yes! I cant believe it myself! I lost the high/mid/low modes but I still have strobe and sos.

Man you modded such an expensive thing!

I have had this light since about 2008? Maybe it was 2009. I dont remember. I had problems with it a couple years after I got it. It would flicker and turn off by it self. It was a PITA getting it apart. I ruined the stock T6 emitters when I took it apart. So I upgraded to xml2-u2 emitters. I couldnt stop there! Haha!

Quick update,

I got it put back together and measured lux at 10 meters. I got 2190 lux. I used (3) 26650 flames I made a short filler with a piece of brass to get the contact in the battery tube. I did measure current at the emitters with the light assembled and it was 5.1A. Probably because of the extra resistance of the brass spacer. Beam shots tonight! (Still daylight here)

Ken

2.4A

5.1A

There it is. I barely got one shot in. Camera battery died. Im charging the battery in the camera. I will probably fall asleep before it charges. I been up since 4:45 this morning!

Ken

What is the input voltage range of a stock TK70?

Stock TK70 takes 3-4D size batteries. Alkaleaks or Nimh

Working Voltage: 4.8V - 8.0V
Max Input Current: 6.5A - 7A

From a quick google.

I think my input current was less than 3A with the 3 lithiums. I can check later to verify. Dont hold me to that number just yet.

Ken

Thanks for your link.

The Thai TK70S version uses either 2 li-ion or the usual 4 nimh

http://www.thaipowerlight.com/Fenix-Flashlight/Fenix-TK70s

All TK70 can use 2 Li-ion cells. Not sure about 3 though.

Two of either links will be good enough?
