Cheap AA Sipik SK-68 clone, $4.59 shipped

Sorry, I forgot it was a US Seller and his shipping is to the US mainly, or it’s “get-ripped”

Anyhow, for AmeriKans, it’s pretty decent, IF 3-mode

Try United Kingdom Ebay see if that works for you.

I ordered same description, 3 mode hi, low, stb, sk68 clone from newtrade201313 on ebay, $4.80 shipped from China. Shipped fast, got it today, seems to work OK. I haven’t tried it with a LiOn, just NiMh. I could do without the strobe, but I’m already liking the hi/lo.

I’m going to give it a few days in my pocket, then try a 14500.

bought one… maybe i’ll switch the LED to dedome XPG2

ugh… bought it too fast,
here’s even cheaper and free shipping and comes in colors :stuck_out_tongue:

actually its US $4.95

Something like 130 vendors offering “sort of ” a sk68 clone on Amazon in that listing, but reviews say YMMV in terms of what you actually get, with this cheapest vendor at a 82% positive rating, and none of the below $4 above 90%.

Personally if it was “clear” I would be happy to pay a premium price for a premium version, but that may not exist, or even more likely be impossible to reliably designate given the random nature of supplier and manufacturer and vendor.

Maybe best is to buy a bunch and swap parts as components fail or you locate upgrades.

Yeah you never know what you are getting with any of them, even the same vendor 1 week later could have a different batch or supplier etc.

I would usually avoid all of them like the plague but bought 2 recently for around $3.50 each from different place to give away as gifts.

I hate them but people that aren’t into lights love the novelty of the zoom, and if it works then I can ask for more than that.

Actually every one I bought thusfar from various cheap sellers just work fine. Structurally a lot can be said and probably improved with the Sipik sk68 &clones but who cares: they light up with plenty light, they zoom impressively and even never blow with a 14500 in my experience.

I agree great first light to give someone, but I would not put a 14500 in one for a casual user. For myself I think quickly the hi/lo will be essential to get more life out of a 14500 which “most” of the time I don’t need in high mode.

Can you imagine a large group of people, like a rave, all with flashlights on strobe?

The really cheap ones that I got for $2.50 have had some clicky issues and another definately pops when you zoom it .I'm assuming it's actually lifting the heatsink with air pressure .

Like ezarc ..i've never been much of a fan of the sk68 it just feels odd .I like the sk58 much better although it needs a ton of work to be a decent light too .It just feels much nicer .

Still tempted to try a few colors ..Who doesn't like a little variety.

The sk68 looks pretty good baked at 500 degrees for 4 minutes..a deep rich brown

it was $1.99 last night when i saw them, i guess they remove them now

That was for a light bracket. It was included in the selection for the colored lights. The lights were $4.95.

Wrong item.

I hate those ads for multiple items, messes up my low to high with shipping searches, and prices are rarely as good as others.

I don't like it for several reasons, but I have a kid cousin that picked out his old one and loved it until he lost it, so this one will replace it and be modded with a multi color XM-L2.

Been offline working on a computer for a lady.
Anyway, got mine in FAST and it WAS a 3-Mode unit.

OK, deal,
My first Sipik sk-68 clone is just over a year old, it has a tighter spot than any of the subsequent units ?? Dunno why.
The $1.99 is now for a bicycle mount.

I ordered a green one.

Only bake the outer metal components, no o-rings, switch or cover, led, driver, etc.

could be different LEDs. if both are xr-e, there are two versions of it, they differ a bit in die area (0,9 vs 1 mm^2 IIRC), wich makes the smaller one throw a smaller hotspot. also there could be different optics?
