IS: Info/Announcements: Quad and Triple XP Series 20mm Copper Direct Thermal Boards (7/3)

Any chance of getting XPG2s on 16mm…preferably copper?

I really would like to see the a 4000K 80CRI XP-G2 emitter. There is a wealth of different tint and high CRI XM-L2's today, which is great, but i have a few mods waiting for a high CRI XP-G2.

I see some Convoy's coming up...but I'm not familiar with the F8.

A few mode group options like moon -low-med-high, low-high, beacon slow-beacon fast.

We'll be taking photos and expanding info soon.

We've recently added some Kinoko IMR batteries to our lineup! Click on each battery for additional details and the results of our own in house testing.

IMR cells, also known as LiMnO2 (Lithium Manganese Dioxide), are cells built for a wide range of purposes, but mainly for high discharge rates. Compared to "normal" 2C discharge rate of lithium-ion - LiCoO2 cells, these cells are capable of up to 5-10C. Not all IMR cells are the same, but these cells are generally regarded as safer than their cobalt containing cousins. As such, (and combined with their high discharge rates) these are unprotected batteries. Batteries should always be charged when they are at or under 3.6V resting voltage. Batteries prefer shallow discharges, and do not suffer from a "memory" effect.

Lowest Discharge Voltage: 2.5V
Nominal Voltage: 3.7V
Peak Voltage: 4.2V

Warnings:
-Do not overdischarge/overcharge
-Recharge drained batteries ASAP
-Do not short circuit
-Do not dispose of in fire
-Do not expose to extreme heat or water
-Please be familiar with handling lithium-ion batteries before purchase.

MTG2’s would be nice, along with drivers to properly power it.
Some 50mm reflectors for the mtg2,xp-g2, xm-l that will fit maglites.
Also waiting on carclo quad optics

Was the discharge tests done down to 3V?

Will HKJ get a few of these for review, maybe 16340 and 18650?

Any chance of seeing 10440 and 26650 too?

Yay, a 17650 alternative to the crappy Trustfires I have :)

Calvin - I agree with RacerR86, I'd love to see the 18650 be put to the ultimate test - HKJ. Any chance of getting 2 cells to him?

For me, I'd be very interested in the 18650 if it compared favorably with the Samsung INR 20R for low resistance. Any thoughts on that? Otherwise, I'll just be ordering the 16340's and 14500's for sure, maybe the 18350's.

Absolutely! The idea of a US dealer selling the entire Convoy lineup is a fantastic one. DQG and Supbeam would also be good.

YES!

You mean like THIS?

But back on topic, this is great news, having a US supplier of IMR batteries!!

We've picked up the F8, M1, M2, S2, S3, S4, S6 already in NW and CW. There are some issues with fitting protected cells in some of the however, depending on interest we might pick up the other models too.

The discharge tests were done down to 2.8V.
We're considering sending some to HKJ but we've been satisfied with our own internal tests.
We were not impressed with the test results of the 10440, 26650 is a possibility in the near future.

Our internal tests show the 18650 easily outputting 10A, we've tried as high as 15A & 20A but wouldn't recommend them or only for short bursts.

New IMR cells, I’m excited

calvin, how much issue are you finding/do you expect to find shipping cells overseas?

Hi Calvin, just wondering what you do in the case of someone wanting to use protected cells in the S4 or 6? The statement - “Please let us know in the order comments if you’re going to be using a protected cell, we’ll try to account for it!” - makes me think you modify the light somehow?

Officially USPS has a partial lift on their ban of Li-ion batteries. Also officially the batteries must be "installed in their intended devices." There is not a big issue.

There are manufacturing tolerance differences among the battery tubes, we simply test to see if a protected cell will fit, we do not modify the lights. (We weren't aware of this before purchasing the Convoy line)

cool. if you wish to ship any cells in a convoy s4 nw host, I honestly wont complain in the slightest…….

I noticed that in my two Convoy S5s…different length and tube i.d.
