WTB: Throwers AND/OR solid flooders

Guess you cant read well………I HAVE A 7G5CS WITH ASPHERIC HEAD. I am familiar with sshperics and from the photos of the dereelight along with reviews it seems to have a smaller beam. I have also yet to find a review that talks aboyt this flood to throw feature. Is that on the V1 or V2?

Also I trust IE, if he says it seems cheap in build then its cheap in build quality. Have you held a crelant or armytek light? Those are quality lights and built like tanks.

Also you seem to be confused……IE and I are talking about “laser beams” because we are legit referencing lasers tgat we both own, have yiu seen his avatar?

No offense but you have been here less than me, way less thsn 18650 & IE as well……yiur avatar is a dereelight to boot, kinda seem like a dereelight fan boy to me…….broaden your horizons buddy, there ate way better lights outb there. If dereelight was the shit like you make it out to be then why is the only place yiu can buy it is through dereelight? No one has made a replica of it either……idk if youve noticed but all the good lights have copies from chinese companies trying to mske s buck off the high quality lights they are imitated.

Pretty set on NOT buying a dereelight at this moment so ig all you are going yo do is push the dereelight then I will respectfully ask you to bow out of this convo.
Thanks

For a flooder, I love my TN30 but not sure if that’s more than you are wanting to spend? Alternatively, as already suggested, an MT-G2 equipped light is awesome. I tried one in a Trustfire X8 and even in a narrow deepish reflector I couldn’t believe how floody it was! My next light will definitely be an SX25L3 with an MT-G2.

Are you only after an aspheric thrower or would you also look into a normal reflector thrower like a TN31 etc.?

Haha yeah I figured it might be a bit over budget. It’s just so awesome I had to mention it haha

Hi there, Livinloud.
Just today I got my K40 back: modified by Vinh. From level 4 onwards (there are 6) it smokes my Xsearcher (EZ900) J)
It’s now my baddest thrower. Tint is nice, too
I doubt you’ll find a better thrower for (I think) $160 (shipping within the US).

I thinlnthe aspheric option is off the table since I dont use the aspheric head I own now. How mych is the TN30? At work so can’t check easily.

K40 just put the final mail in the dereelight debate………no dereelight for mr, will edutbtyebtitle when I get home

Banglabob, what batch light did you get?

The fire on a hot topic here already, but iam a hunter and here in Arizona it is illegal to hunt at night for anything except varmits. I.e. coyot es , foxes and bobcats I believe when living loud mentioned he was looking for a thrower I never heard him mention it was for hunting or had to fit on a rifle, I like living loud would like a thrower with some spill not a narrow beam I myself was interested in a Dereelight at first untill I saw a YouTube video of a side by compassion of a dereelight and another light , iam sorry I don't remember which light it was a UK made YouTube video. I personally would like a light with throw primarily and spill secondarily .and would fit in my hand easily .so now I would like other peoe opinion on which thrower the modded K40 or T31?EDIT:! I just wanted to add I do have zy-to8 modded witha MT-G2 with a very neutral tint iam guessing somewhere in the 4000 k range and it has a huge huge hot spot , it throws decently but its primarily a flood and secondarily a thrower I brought this up because someone metioned a MT-G2 as a possible thrower.

I agree I he obviously wasn’t looking for a hunting light and even if he was how do you mount that light on a rifle and is it even shock resistant? When I say target I don’t mean something to shoot at I meant the “target” of the light whatever that might be. I like an aspheric lens ok but it’s a very limited use light. Oh and I am not buying that picture above with the given specs. Something just isn’t right there. That XML-3 must be very underdriven and then even so if it’s that close in lux as it’s stated there is no way that the second and third picture can be accurate. It’s not even twice the lux but it’s about five times as bright in the picture. something smells.

Well anyway on to your question. Both the K40 and the T31 are supposed to be amazing lights from what everyone has said and it all depends on if you feel like spending the extra for the Tn31. It’s a little better light but is it worth it to you to pay a lot more for not that much better of a light? Either one will be an amazing light. It’s simply unreal what happens when you put that many amps through a de-domed XM-L2 and push it through a large reflector. You get a ton of throw but really the spill is bright too.

Own both, and for the most part I prefer the K40. The TN31 has a bit more throw to it, but not much. They are practically the same light, only difference is a slightly larger reflector on the TN31.

Something smelled fishy the whole time……when everything was placed together it pointed to a dereelight dealer/rep or a dereelight fan boy. Kinda like those Wicked Laser fan boys but in reality WL sucks!

It did seem a bit odd. Just relaying my own deerelight experience... light felt like a cheap rebrand, like monsterflashlights.

To be fair it did work fine, I just tend to have higher expectations for a $50+ light vs a $10 one.

IE, I will say this again; holy BARRACUDA this light is freakin amazing! You were not lying on the quality either! Thing makes my Crelant look like a chinese light :frowning: oh thats right, Crelant is a high quality chinese light

Dang, might not be in the market for another thrower but heck, I want more lights so another thrower and first real flooder it is!
Have a EDC XML 26650 “floody” light but i want a monster! 18650 ill PM you again tonight, dinner is calling :stuck_out_tongue:

I got the first batch, last year in December, I think. Ordered directly from Supbeam. I still think, at under $90 it was a stinking good deal  (and that includes DHL shipping).
I got the idea to send it to Vinh after reading ILIKE’s post. I figured the performance (K40) wasn’t that much superior to my STL-V2; so I’d keep the V2 and mod the K40.
Vinh assured me that after modding it would top 400KcD, and after using it last night, I’ve no doubt that it does

I have a Dereelight X searcher with a modified pill from Vinh directly on copper that is over 400k lux. It doesn’t feel cheap at all and at $110.00 before the mod it shouldn’t. Its a fun toy with a thin beam and no spill. I use it when I don’t want to disturb my neighbors.

When I’m not worried about the spill however I much prefer my 500k+ modified TN31vn or my 250k+ modified TK75 both done by Vinh. I’ve sold off all of my other “big guns” and I really like the diversity that these three lights bring. I did have a Creelant and my X searcher was of slightly higher quality in my opinion.

I do think that guy comes on a little strong about dereelight though. Those pics he showed were from a precollomator lens and it was an extremely interesting and impressive implementation. It did grab Vinh’s attention as well.

I’ve wideled my way down from about 20 or so lights to five, and all five have been modified by Vinh, so you know where my loyalty and recommendation lyes. I guess I’m a Vinh fanboy LOL. I think you should go with a modified K40 by who else but the man himself. Good luck on your journey but I must warn you his lights are like Lays potato chips. Bet you can’t get just one.

My wife bought up my light addiction in our marriage claas of course to other couple addiction mine was minor lol let mecorrect ut was a question asked by the pastor of what we did in excess and my wife said the only thing she could tbink of was my lights.lol

You sure she didn’t talk about your drinking? Just messing with you based on all of the mistakes in this post. LOL. Probably on your phone or something. Cheers!

I don’t trust anyone that joined the forums on the date you did……(I don’t trust them not to blow a ton of money on this hobby anyway.)

its funny, I know IE has had a few Crelants and for him to say quality doesnt feel par for the price, id believe it. Just got my Barracuda from him today and he was telling me how nice of quality it was, better than the crelants, etc, but once i opened the package up; wow, its way better than i imagined. if he said quality wasnt there, im going to believe him. to each their own and you may think its a nice light but ill pass since i have a aspheric already.

Think i have my decision narrowed down to three lights. tough choice and ill have to sleep on it and see if my laser sells this weekend or not. if it sells, im going to grab some lights this weekend. keep you all posted, but any last minute suggestions, feel free to toss them my way!

lol I gave up the spirits way back I just wish I could give up mistakes on smart phone damn near impossible to edit ! Again ill try and work on it by the way could you post the links for modded K40 and modded T31. so I can see which one to try save up for ? Thanks

LOL!

I didn't realize when my username was corrected my join date was reset :D

So uhm, BlackShadow darth is a really solid flooder... ;)

K40vn

The TN31vn you will have to contact Vinh via PM to discuss the details.

Another light you might want to save up for if you like flood and throw.
X40vn
And another great flood/thrower more towards throw
TK75vn

The TK75vn and TN31vn are both awesome and share the spot of my favorite.

The Dereelight is awesome to though. Much better lens on the aspheric head than the garbage Creelant one. :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree the Barracuda is of higher quality than both the Creelant and the Dereelight.
