- 4 months and 636 posts later...Howdy from Tallboybass! -

I never did a proper introduction…HI! I’m Tallboybass, a 6’7” left-handed bass player/drummer/guitar player from Okiehoma.

When I came to BLF it was with only a few lights…like a CygoLite Expilion 250 bike light, Streamlight Stylus Pro, a $25 “1200 lumen” bike light, an iTp A3 and an Olight S10.

Since joining I have acquired (gulp)…NiteCore EC1, JetBeam RRT01, Convoy S3, 2-Convoy S5’s, Aliexpress C12, Jacob A60, Olight i3S, SWM R10R, Olight i6, UltraFire ZB-006, a laser!, LOTS of batteries, chargers and meters…and my latest lil’ sweetie…the EagleTac TX25C2!! (plus a few lights that have been sold or traded)

Just recently I’ve gotten into some light modding & laptop battery pack cracking, so what used to be a ping pong table is now a work bench.

Thanks to everyone here for being so informative, friendly, supportive, and well…so darned entertaining!! So much better than ‘that other place!’

Nice introduction! I see you already love being here! :)

..and thank you for being an active member!

+ 1

Thank you for being here among us and active! Your collection of lights already compares to mine, am only wondering why a musician would want to buy more and more lights. I'd rather invest in sheets, CDs and stereo ;)

A belated welcome, stay and prosper!

BLF, informative? naahh. not if you go after my posts lol

howdy, glad to have you here,my names gords and I’m a flashaholic.

There IS a bit of a confessional feel to all this…

the first step to solving a problem is, admitting you have a problem……

my problem is my bank balance……its not big enough :davie:

It just goes to show how you can misinterpret things. Now I know you are a 6’7” guitar player, the user name tallboybass makes perfect sense. However, when I saw your name popping up I assumed it referred to the Tallboy earthquake bomb developed during the Second World War by Barnes Wallis (he of Dambusters fame) which certainly generated a lot of bass over Europe in its time.

Heehee….nope, that wasn’t me.

Tonight I’m in a band opening for “Popa Chubby” here in Tulsa. Playing with some legendary cats…one of which is drummer Chuck Blackwell who played with Leon Russell, Taj Mahal, Freddie King… Google him!

Gotta go. 8)

Please enjoy your time here, tallboybass!

Oh, wait... It looks like you have! :p

Tallbassboy my name I light junkie and iam an addict, ill be honest when I saw your username I thought you were into car audio competition glad to have you here and you have a darn nice collection allready and I hope to get there soon as my username states I am a junkie and my wife now hides credibility cards and when valuables start missing my family automatically thinks I have pawned os sold something to buy lights or modding accessories. Lol iam glad you are here and tbe rest of the members as a support group for me.

I thought you were a dedicated fisherman

Thought maybe you were an avid tall fisherboy…  Bass Type, Of Course J)

Hope the gig went well. Anyone who played with Taj Mahal is close to legendary status in their own right!

Glad to have you here TBB! I could tell the bug had bitten you!

It's been great having you on this site Tall One. At your height, you must need a light with some throw just to see your feet in the dark. You've enriched BLF and I hope you stick around for awhile.

Thanks everyone! This really IS a cool thing, this BLF….great atmosphere and lots of camaraderie, not to mention…people who know their shi….stuff. Glad you tolerate my silly questions and let me be a part of the community!!

Thanks, the gig went well!

Chuck Blackwell IS a legend. Not only did he play with Leon, Taj, and Freddie…he played in the original band that was on ‘Shindig’ back in the 60’s…called ‘The Shindogs’, again, with Leon Russell. Chuck is in his 70’s and looking a little frail but he plays his @$$ off!

This is a real thrill for me to play with him, because he played with a bass player named Carl Radle (Eric Clapton, Leon, Freddie, Delaney & Bonnie, George Harrison, shoot…just about everybody!), also from Tulsa, and Carl is who I emulated when I was learning to play!! (had no idea they were from Tulsa)

Sorry, back to flashlights…

Hey! No need to be sorry. This is one of the reasons why I love BLF! We can freely go off-topic and learn new things about each other or just have some fun.

Cool….thanks, the!!!
