So hideous it's cool

That is the Famous: Anti-Woof Moddel

i ordered one already… but not from ebay… it’s from aliexpress… for $16.99
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/266782354.html
it’s going to be mod with XML2 U2 1A and 3.5 A… it’s going to stay in my car for “emergency” purpose

:stuck_out_tongue:

Got mine today!

Here's my first impressions..

Pros:
- Looks tacticool
- Design is unique
- Side clicky
- Mechanic clicky, no parasitic drain & easier to replace driver
- Reasonably driven at 2.5A, 1.25A & 0.33A (about 500, 300 & 100lm OTF)
- Build quality is ok for so cheap light
- High PWM frequency (unnoticeable)
- Good tint for CW (pretty neutral)
- Comes with charger

Cons:
- Looks tacticool
- Alert sound is way too quiet (which is actually good as I tend to occasionally press the tail clicky by mistake)
- Glass breakers can't be just removed, they need to be replaced with similar screws (to hold the bezel on)
- Next mode memory
- PWM makes some whining noise on med & low

And then some quick cell phone photos..

Business end:

Nice internal design between driver and mechanic side clicky:

Body design:

Seat belt cutter at tail:

The end:

The end flashing red with alarm engaged:

Well, it certainly is interesting if nothing else. Are you happy you bought it or was it a waste?

Definitely interesting. I didn’t realize it was essentially a multi-tool for storage in a car (glass breaker/seatbelt cutter/ and flashlight). I’m not fond of the included ultrafires, but for <$20 it seems like a decent deal.

Looks like something from a Vampire movie.

This would be the first flashlight i would give a Name too. I would name it ” Stabby”.

Get two of them and have some nice corn-on-the-cob holders so you don't burn your fingers! :D

This light seems to be related:

I'm happy. (* Planning to cut the alarm sound off and swap to Qlite driver though.

My version was $17.99 without crapFires.

*) Of course I'm happy. I would be happy even without ever using this light. It looks good in my collection anyways.. ;)

However, another light came in today with a possibility to charge cells in the light - AND a cell conveniently at 0.5V:

..but no worries, that light has ultra high efficiency output (and the illumination time is long!):

Cool… I might have to get one.

Would you be able do some beamshots? I’m curious as to how it compares to other lights.

I was wondering what PWM stands for? “PWM makes some whining noise on med & low”

http://flashlightwiki.com/Terminology#PWM

In this case the PWM frequency is high enough to be unnoticeable, but it can be heard as a whining sound.

Don't have time for any beam shots today, sorry. :(

Np, thanks for all the info!

This thing is awesome. So hilarious to look at the details.

I would like to own one, but cant justify spending MONEY on it

I wonder if it would be possible to disable the alarm and let the LED flash… and how long that would last? If it could last for like 6 months?

For some reason, they don’t make (anymore) parasitic drain glowing tail caps … and GITD materials only work if it was exposed to light and most of which cheap ones from china last for 5 minutes in the dark. Tritium is on the expensive side and you have to modify your light to accept a glass tube.

:frowning:

My thoughts exactly. Compliments a Bat’leth nicely. (grins as everyone runs off to Google Bat’leth.)

It looks like it should be a stun gun too.

And I don’t think a “help I’m being attacked” item helps the Klingon image much.

I suspect that would be one flashlight the TSA would notice if you tried traveling on a plane with it. .

I'd also be concerned that there would be some cities/states/countries where that light would be considered an offensive weapon and could get a person arrested!
