Battery tube plugs

Does anyone know where I can get just the battery tube plugs you find in the 502B flashlights? I am working on a new mod but I'd like to find a source for just the plugs.

If I can't buy just the plugs I'd be very grateful if anyone has a few of them laying around in their parts bin and has no use for them if you could send them to me. I'd be happy to pay for shipping. :)

Johnny

Edit: it need not only be for a 502b. That was just an example.

"the battery tube plugs you find in the 502B flashlights" ??? What plugs?

You mean the plastic plug with a rivet in it in between the battery and the pill , right ?

Pm me your address I have half a dozen you can have.

Am I missing something here? I have two 502b's and I can't find any plug in them. The host is totally empty, apart from the tail-cap switch obviously. The only other thing is the P60 drop in, in which case why specify the plug in a 502b? Can someone enlighten me as this one is driving me nuts. What the heck is this plug with a rivet?

Those are the ones.

PM on its way. Thanks! :)

It is a plastic plug that is press fit into the end of the battery tube at the head end, not the switch end. It keeps the batteries from hitting the drop-in directly if dropping the batteries in from the tail end. There is a rivet that passes the positive current from the battery to the spring of the driver. Most people remove the plugs as they are one more possible failure point and because you can't load batteries from the head end. Hope this helps, Johnny

I am curious about this mod now...

I used the 502b as an example because it is found more commonly in them and I didn’t have a photo handy. It can be from any other torch that uses them as well. I just don’t know what others besides some 502b torches commonly use them.

501As use them to that's were mine came from I have 5 sitting here on the table here I will try and mail them out to you Monday morning.

Ah..............now I understand. I've never had one in either my 501B or two 502B's, the only P60 hosts I have. Your explanation means I'm now no longer clueless. But I still remain plugless, I feel a bit left out........

The "real" 502b's don't have them, only the cheapo "fake" ones. To be fair, I'm only discriminating between by the fact the "real" is much higher quality.

Thanks for that, agenthex. So not getting any plugs is a good thing. Now I feel better.

I have two "real" ones from a few years back which had the plugs. Both long since lost. Those two 502Bs were my first P60 lights.

Not really sure why the cheaper models would use them. It's extra money out of their pockets to make them and put them in. I think the "good" ones used them until buyers complained that they were inconvenient, so they stopped. The clones continued and now they are phasing them out too.
