OK my flashlight hobby has now turned into an obsession. I have two SRK’s in the mail(luckily one is for my brother in law). This will be my 3rd and 4th SRK style light even after selling 2 to family. My second light was the 3 tyroid version so it was upgraded with sense resistors for 6 amp tail current. I also have 3 driver boards(3 tyroid version) in the mail incase either of the srk’s have the LED’s wired in series with one tyroid.
I have 3 single battery(18650) CREE lights as well as 3 small mag lights from years ago when they were the best lights on the market. I should have noticed then my light obsession was more then a hobby. How many lights do I really need? How many batteries do I really need?
Anyway I found a nice looking 4 cree XML t6 / 4x18650 light that looked right for the price. Has anyone seen this light’s driver or care to guess what it might be? The suspense is killing me and I haven’t bought it yet. I am waiting on the current shipping issues to reside before I buy it.
Now belongs to the lightside lol I unserstand I am in. The same e boat as you ,I am constantly lying to my wife that I wont buy anymore lights this month ,but..... I never said I wouldn't buy light related items to try and mod them and now thanks again to the peer pressure from here iam know hopelessly fascinated with budget knife s lol glad your here.
Friend, I have been where you are right now many times. I will be again, I'm sure. I would advise you don't buy it for the following reasons:
You already have some lights in that general form factor (floody multi-emitter). You will likely eventually be attracted to a different form factor and will wish you hadn't purchased as many lights of this type.
The light is likely lousy. There is not one real picture of the light in the ad. For $50, you should be able to see a real picture of the light and it should be of decent quality.
hahahah, speaking of knives, i’m not into knives… i wanna say, i wasn’t into knives till few days ago when i ordered a Navy k507 and Sanrenmu lb-763, all after reading reviews here :~
At least you have someone slowing you down. If I buy this one it will make the fifth in 2 weeks and now I am going to look at knives so I can prove to myself I don’t have a problem with buying just lights.
well I was always told admitting you have a problem is the first step well I bought 3 knives in 2 weeks and ive tried modding now 5 lights with no success so iam trying the knifes
Ok, just continue! Buy more lights! You can't save your soul anyways!
