My last order from DX was shipped Wednesday September 11. It is November 10 and I still don’t have my parts. They asked me to wait until the end of the week (Nov. 15) and contact them again if nothing shows up.
It also seems to take 5 business days to even respond to a problem.
I won't order from DX ever, even if they are the only ones that have what I want. They have stiffed me three times out of three times with orders that never ever shipped out and they never responded to any request, until I filed paypal disputes.
The letdown was the UltraFire V6-T60 XM-LT6. Two large pits in the host and led way off center. Way to impress first…and last time buyer!
Oh well, I don’t mind learning to re-center the LED. The brass or copper pill(?) appears thermally well connected to host as it gets warm fast with the T-6. The pitting has me scratching my head in why a dealer would let this leave the store but DX may have had it shipped direct with no inspection. Their loss.
Not bought anything from dx for a few years until recently and no problems so far, 3 orders turned up, both in good time and 2 more on the way. All were shipped quickly within 2 days which is better than my recent fasttech orders.
Bit unfair on dx there tbh. Why would DX inspect it? do you expect amazon to inspect stuff before they send it?
Have you contacted them about the pitting? you should at least give them a chance to rectify it.
With a credit that took almost a year to receive on a wrong shipment. I had ordered XM-L C10’s and got XR-E’s. I had to send them back at my expense and it took 6 months after that to get the credit. The credit sat in my account for another year as I just couldn’t get around to using it. Today I ordered 3 items, let’s see how that goes….
Maybe. In their own words DX inspects it, but no, amazon does not inspect anything. What Amazon does is give you near instant refund if you buy from them. When’s the last time you sent anything back to Hong Kong?
What I, and I’m sure many others would like to see is the dealers use US/UK based warehouses for faster exchanges and shipping. To be fair, DX does use a US drop off site but then it may still have to go to Hong Kong. To be fair, DX promises to try to make things right if you got the time.
DX is not the only overseas company I’m done with, not to be rude, but hope to see improvement.
They are the ones that more often than any of the others carry interesting new budget lights (that sometimes turn out be crap, and sometimes are a pleasant surprise), and have free shipping. Just do not order items you have a deadline for. They show up when they show up, but until this day every item I ever ordered from them has arrived.
All my dx parcels come in the form of suposotories, according to the woman the deliver all my mail, I can tell you taking delivery of a 50m spool of 2.5mm2 speaker cable puts a strain om me, and the postwoman.
I sort off regret ordering that pre assembled rc helicopter and the tk90 flashlight copy, not to mention a 80w soldering station…
To all, thanks for your responses. As the tears rolled across the pitted flashlight I found out it IS water resistant! Light works good so I’ll just say I dropped it and learn to mod it.
DX usually takes 2 weeks to the uk, but my last order of 2 items placed on the same day one item took 2 weeks and the other item is now over 3 weeks, both were shipped on the same day
Yhey have NEVER “Stiffed me” And I’ve been shopping from them regularly for about 8 years… I’ve received 21 orders in 2013 alone, no problems except for sipping times on items sent with free shipping and having to wait for some items to restock… I’ve had items replaced free of charge whenever I’ve had bad products arrive.
For more expensive items like the 246$ Oscilloscope Multimeter UNI-T UT81C + scope probes I ordered yesterday, I go for Expedited shipping, that way it arrives in about a week as an EMS shipment for a grand total of 300$, where 30$ is shipping.
