Banggood - I won't be dealing with them again

Thanks for sharing, at least when you got your order it was correct (so far!) How long did it take for you to get your stuff?

Yep, knew I wouldn’t be setting any records with my story, I’m just posting this as a warning as to what could happen to potential BG customers.

As for shipping times for products coming from china. Up to a week processing times I have seen. I know Hong Kong post handles a couple million parcels a day! just lately they have started to x-Ray every package manually. They are cracking down on batteries specifically but also anything that is a steel tube gets a little extra scrutiny as well. here is why in know. I order both flashlights and electronic cigarettes from china, ecigs are banned and carry a stiff fine if caught with them in some parts of china.

So HK post and other Chinese shipping companies are getting very strict on anything that could be or contain a lithium battery.

As for him taking weeks to send you the product and the other tom foolery, a lot of Chinese businesses do that it seems. They would much rather get your money in hand as soon as possible than tell you upfront it could be a few days to a few weeks and then ask you to please be patient with the and offer some kind of weak apology. I found with some vendors that honesty isn’t one of their greatest attributes.

Here’s a very quick version of my first (last?) order from Banggood:

Made sure my order met the requirements for free tracking. Check my mail and find the items shipped as three separate orders with no tracking. Ask about tracking. Told items were all located in different warehouses (all shown as CN warehouse).

The good: Items shipped quickly, can’t argue with that.
The bad: Feeling like I was being to nickle-and-dimed out of the registered mail I was due. Haven’t had that happen at any other online shop.

How long did it take for you to receive the items?

i’ve made 25+ orders from banggood, and i think they’re quite good so far. i ordered a couple of chargers that was supposed to be 1A, but was actually 0,1A and 0,3A. after some conversations and a video of the faulty chargers i got a refund. it didn’t go ‘early fasttech’-smooth, but rather the usual amount of work that most chinese vendors forces you to do before you get a refund…

My only order so far at banggood, was laso a tk-75 2900lum. It came pretty fast and without any problems. I guess you ordered at the wrong moment

Mistakes can happen with ANY vendor… not trying to pick sides, but my experience with BG so far so good.
I ordered few items in the past because of cheap prices, although I suggest not to buy clothes from them as sizes and quality is not something you would expect but then again… you get what you pay for, but they came through for me.
They all usually delivered within more or less 3 weeks to a month ( which is very common for Chinese mails).
even my favorite vendor at the moment Fasttech, they shipped me the wrong item… but they have a great customer service.( although lately it takes them few days to answer the mails now :frowning: )

as BG reps says… if it doesn’t come within a week and you can keep the old TK75 along with your new TK75 it’s some kind of reassurance for me. ( I’ll be praying it doesn’t come within a week so I can keep both he he  )

now I wished Wallbuys would promise me the same as BG, because I haven’t seen my SUNWAYMAN D40A in 2 months now :frowning:

since the crackdown on Lithium batteries… all packages from China has been very slow lately, sometimes it took 2 weeks sitting in Shanghai sorting center before it leaves China, that’s if the Vendor doesn’t ship any batteries, if they found one of the package contain batteries, then they will send ALL the packages originated from the same Vendor back… as the case with my flashlight from Wallbuys, they have to resend it again but I have faith in them as I ordered quite large amount of flashlights from them.

meanwhile, just play with your TK75 for now… go shine it on something far it’ll help you reduce your anxiety for the moment.
I have both TK75 2600 lumens and TK75 2900 lumens, not much different with the naked eyes, unless you have one that mod’ed by Vinh

You sure it’s an XM-L2 one?!

Only few people know the difference between XML & XML2, even you have to ask about it so its easy for them to make a mistake !

Even on the official product page Fenix are dumb enough to have make this HUGE mistake !

So Fenix is to blame here. Impressive how they are clueless about their own products. Banggood just used their official pictures, with them you cannot tell the differences at all.

Wow!! So some poor warehouse pleb wouldn’t have the foggiest!!

I’m sure, first the box says 2900lum, the papers say 2900lum and the xm-l2 can be seen with the silver padding under the led, xm-l has the green ones.

It doesn’t just happen with companies from China I can tell you that for sure. I recently ordered from a well regarded American company and waited and waited. No response to e-mails. I would call and leave a message no response. Finally I did get through and was told it was on back order and would be another 3 weeks. This was a part for a washing machine. Try explaining to your wife why she has to go to the laundromat for another month. It will make your problems sound like a blast. :open_mouth:

Well good luck anyway.

48 days and still waiting for an order from BG, tracking# says it’s been shipped. I already filed a claim with PP last week — if it doesn’t get here by November 26, then I’m going to have to escalate it.

I actually ordered another item (without tracking) about three weeks after and it’s already arrived. Don’t know where the missing item is.

That’s quite a promise, keep us updated on how this unravels.

Oh I will, Vinh might be converting it to XM-L2 and amping it up to 4500 lumens in a weeks time lol

Hi

Here is the tracking number:6345312982. and the result:http://www.dhl.com/content/g0/en/express/tracking.shtml?brand=DHL&AWB=6345312982%0D%0A

If you expect the level of service that Illumination Supply offers, you should not deal with any other company, ever, except maybe Amazon and Zappos. They're really very good. They communicate actively on this forum, email, their website chatting system, Reddit...and that's only counting the ways I've personally communicated with them. They offer great sales, are flexible about price, test their own batteries, send batteries to HKJ for independent testing, ship orders placed during business hours on the same day, and go above and beyond in providing service after the sale. If they were to improve their service, they'd come to my house when an order arrives to charge my batteries, balance charging where it'd be beneficial, and then put them in the appropriate flashlight.

That said, it seems to me that this is an example of ineptness and sloppiness, not maliciousness. Even then, that's still above average for chinese vendors, which is sad. Fortunately they're offering the refund, and there's always the protection Paypal offers. I've dealt with Banggood a few times, and I actually find your experience encouraging since there's communication, a lack of active resistance to do the right thing, and there seems to be progress. It is, however, a warning that I should quickly and carefully double check my orders from them as soon as they arrive so that there's time to resolve any mistakes before the protection Paypal could provide expires.

I got a defective Eagletac flashlight from Amazon on Tuesday and on Thursday I had a new one

Wow I wish DHL wasn’t so bloody expensive. I’d love to have tracking like that instead of “information received” and then 15 days later “origin has shipped” and a week later it hits the US and updates once a day.

What am I not understanding here? You told me on the 14th it had been shipped (can screenshot the PM you sent me if you like?) Says in that picture it was picked up on the 16th….
