Are these knives FAKE sanrenmu knives?

Hello everyone, as we all know Sanrenmu is a very popular knife brand, so popular in fact that in China it has fakes, among them were the 900+ series of Sanrenmu knives. The site Sanrenmu.com was made by the people making fake Sanrenmu knives. Well, recently I’ve been seeing these knives appear, called the Sanrenmu 7010, they’re basically the same as the Sanrenmu 710 but with a couple of different colour schemes. They just appeared on the FastTech website. They appear to use the same or slightly better steel, and given the basic construction of the 710 are probably the same quality. But I thought I ask if people know if these are fake SRM knives or not? And also, to be aware that they are listed on the same website that the fake Sanrenmu 900 series was made by:

In my opinion they aren't fakes. The 710 is the knife which made the brand popular as the poor man sebenza and now they made some new models.
Most of the well-known shops sell the "new" 710 and if a shop like exduct, which buy 3000 knives of one model, I think they buy directly from the Sanrenmu factory.

I have two of the 7010 series and two more on the way. They do not appear to be fakes in any way.
For example the packaging is perfect right down to the tiny model sticker on the reverse of the blister packaging.
The quality is there as well, if these are fakes then they’ve got me fooled.
The logos on the blade are the same ad others that I have, the only thing that is missing is the steel type and a fake would, I think, be more likely to include this.
If these are fakes then let’s have more of them, as I say they’ve got me convinced that they are genuine but I could be wrong.

I had a question for one supplier about the silver “sandpaper” textured scale model and they said that SanRenMu were producing another batch of these older ones.:-
Is the Sanrenmu 710 7010LUC-SA the same as the one shown in the photo on the product page - the one with the textured scale rather than the printed with the panther jumping through the fireball?
I thought the original 710 was out of production.
Reply: It is textured scale version as show in the photo, but new version still has some change on pivot screw, from “Hexagon socket button head screws ( Inner hexagon screw)” to become “outer hexagonal bolts” ,another modify is,the Model No to be 7010LUC-SA instead of 710 , thank you !
-: There are no “outer hexagonal bolts” that I can see!

It would be an unusual step for anybody faking a knife to come up with the Slightly Distressed Stonewashed 7010LUQ-SW model, people might think that they were seconds that had been kicked about the factory floor.

It’s good of the “fakers” to change the model numbers and have them etched onto the blades so we have a way of telling them from the “genuine” SanRenMus.

What makes you think they are fake.

FastTech do stock one knife that is fake but that one is so laughable that it wouldn’t fool anybody.

The only reason why I thought they might be fake was because they were listed on the www.sanrenmu.com website and those are the guys who produced the sanrenmu 910+ series of knives which were fake sanrenmus. Also, I thought it was odd that they would change the designs so slightly this late in it’s production run. I also believe there are still many originals still available for purchase.

The 7*0*10 and 7*0*63 etc. seem to be a second run/series of SanRenMu’s. If they are fake, and I don’t think that they are, they’ll be getting some of my money.
They are appearing on all the major knife sites that I use, FastTech, Exduct, Great Wall Outdoor, AliExpress, some you associate with fakes and some you don’t.
I have 2 7010 knives and the quality is definitely there.

They’re definitely fakes. The entire range is posted on the www.sanrenmu.com website which is the same website that sold the fake 9-series of SRM knives which were terrible quality. The problem is that while the one you have might be good, there may be problems with heat treatment and QC that was not prevalent in the old SRM knives. I’m still going to be buying them, but it’s important for people to know that this isn’t the same company as the old SanRenMu judging by what I’ve seen so far.

Ah, glad to hear about the 908. Personally I looked forward to seeing large knives from SRM since they never really made many huge ones. If the quality is there then I have no qualms at all with this company, and the term “fake” certainly isn’t the best word to use for a Chinese knife company if you know what I mean. Hehe. I just again, wanted to put the word out there on the off-chance that the quality is bad, that it doesn’t seem to be the original SRM, though it might be a division of SRM, no idea. I do like the full range of colours they’ve posted on the fasttech.com website, I’m really liking these 763 re-makes in vibrant colours:

I just want to hear some reviews & comparisons to the originals, after all they are essentially just giving us customers some new, exciting colours for the models we already love, and a lot of models have become hard to find so it’s good to see them on the market again and at a decent price.

I can not see that like a srm 763 because they have not axis lock, and that is because the 763 is so popular.

That it probably true to a certain extent. I think but don’t know for sure as long as they do not market inside the US there’s nothing anyone can say bout it. If they set up shop on our soil that’s a different matter.

No axis lock takes all the appeal out of it for me anyways.

I like the original.

I would buy every color if they were axis lock.
My EDC is a 763

I read somewhere that the G10 version with the Axis lock was being taken out of production but the aluminium one was continuing. I’ll have to get one of these as I’ve only got the aluminium one and it might suit a linerlock.

The other one I’d like to buy is one (or both) of the 7046LTE pair, a “lite” version of the SanRenMu Real Steel T08 , 8Cr14MoV instead of Sandvik 12C27.

Time will tell but I don’t think any of these “new” SanRenMu’s are fake.

SanRenMu have always been very good at mid to small sized folders and it makes sense to have a second production run of the 710’s - don’t forget that was the knife that got them publicity on YouTube and the forums so why not a new run with different graphics and a continuation of the old one.

The 763 is probably the best Chinese version of the Axis style of lock so they’ve kept one going and made linerlock versions to run alongside it, they make very good linerlocks and it would be a truly Chinese design.

No more knives for me until after christmas, I’m officially skint. So many knives so little money. At least there’s some good quality knives about at inexpensive prices.

And the 900 series is back at fastTech with the GB4-913P .

I have the other SRM knife with the “razel” blade, the 787. It’s neat but it has a very gritty lock and I never got around to taking it apart:

I might have to get myself one of those, $6.90 fromGreatWallOutdoor

These 7010’s look good as well.
If I remember right the last time I bought from there it was about $5 postage though.
Customer support is excellent, same day answers to questions and emails tracking #s, Calvin sent me an email when a particular knife came back in stock, stuff like that’s worth a bit extra now.

Anyway, back on topic. There are so many new knives entering the market recently that if they are fakes the factories would need to be as big as SanRenMu, I’m not saying it couldn’t happen but I don’t think it has in this case. They are consistent across all the dealers, and I think the dealers understand that reputation is everything and customers don’t like being taken in by fakers no matter how good the feckers are.

Any word why they’re not making the G10 763 anymore?
Personally I find it preferable to the one with aluminum scales.

Probably a lack of popularity given it’s a more expensive knife.
