[CLOSED] Laser Group Buy- LaserBtb FDA Approved legal lasers!!!!!

ENDED- ORDER SENT

Hey guys, I know some of you are interested in lasers and there is a great group buy (GB) going on over at laserpointerforums.com that can he found here: CLOSED: ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy! | Laser Pointer Forums - Discuss Laser Pointers | High Power Lasers ALL ORDERS NEED TO BE POSTED IN THIS ^ THREAD AND NOT ON BLF!!! I am not running this GB so I am not going to relay orders and payment info back and forth. Its easiest for you to post them in LPF and deal with ORF directly. FYI you might as well sign up for an account since you will be hooked on lasers and want to post questions anyways  Welcome to the dark side of illumination!

Offroadfreak (ORF) is running his fourth, yes fourth, GB for LaserBtb and the best part is LaserBtb has FDA approval and certification so these are legal to import into the USA (or other countries but i mostly care about the USA, sorry). I own a HL532-300mW that arrived doing over 400mW!!! Almost ever, well actually id go out on the limb and say every, LaserBtb laser sold in the GB is over spec since Kevin hand selects which ones he sends to us. Here is your chance to get a legal laser for cheap!

They have everything available; 405nm, 445nm, 532m, 808nm, 650nm, 450nm and the beautiful 515nm 520nm and 473nm!!! A 520nm for under $100 shipped is an amazing deal! DTR sells these BARE diodes for $85 each so this is a crazy good deal!

Anyways, if anyone has any questions about laser i can answer them for you. If you have any questions about the GB then ask ORF, he is running the GB, im just a member of it and figured id spread the word

Safe lasing everyone!!! Laser safety glasses are ALWAYS recommended when using lasers indoors, burning or up close viewing. DONT WORRY, laser glasses do not obstruct your ability to view the laser. It just is the safe and recommended way to view lasers that are not used for sky pointing. Its the same thing with flashlights, you wouldnt stare into a 7G5CS, HD2010, SRK, etc……thats just stupid and dangerous for your eyes 8)

EDIT: The lasers are listed by host style (pen, HL “handheld” and PL “portable”) then wavelength then power. example PL445 - 1600mW is the PL portable host with 445nm diode putting out 1600mW or 1.6W

List of wavelengths and what color they are posted below

Could you elaborate ( for us Laser noobs) on the differences between wavelengths?
Is it visually the difference in beam color?
Maybe there is a reference chart of wavelengths ?
( and things like—all other factors being equal, are any wavelengths more visible, or
” hotter” ?)

I'm glad the GB is open until 2013-12-31. I'll almost certainly get something, but I have no idea what that is yet. The pricing and models are confusing. Like I don't get why the 1600 mW PL445 is less expensive than the less powerful 1000 mW PL650. Oh, I think I see it now. The "445" and "650" are wavelengths.

Its the color spectrum. The human eye can generally see 380nm-700nm (everyone is different though)

This is also a great tool in comparing wavelengths and relative brightness. Plug in numbers of the wavelength and power and see how much of another wavelength is needed to be the same brightness.

405nm is im but you can still see it. 808nm is IR so you cant see it. 445, 650, 473, 532, 515, 520 are all easily visible. Actually anything in this GB between 405-650 is visible

Not sure what you mean by hotter? Are you referencing beam tint?

EDIT: colors in that chart are off, ill post a picture of the wavelengths below

Just some of the things lasers are great for

Pulsar- thats a good chart but the max powers are off or the lines dont match up well
Lefteye- yes let me elaborate. Forgot most of you are not used to this. PL445-1600 is a PL (portable style host) in 445nm at 1600mW. Although ORF broke them down to just; HOSTwavelength - power

HL is a hand held host
PL is a portable host; larger than HL but still handheld. There are reviews of all the hosts in the OP of the GB. Take a look at them to see size and what not.

Ill update my OP to explain the lasers better

That comparison tool is helpful. I'm leaning towards the PL445-1600, and maybe the HL808-1000 if I can think of something remotely useful to do with it.

520nm 50mW $73
515nm 30mW $69
Nice. :ghost:
Really like seeing direct green come down in price.

~ edit ~
Not trying to make an order.

ANY ORDERS NEED TO BE POSTED IN THE LPF GB THREAD, NOT HERE!

To tell you the truth, 808nm is pointless. Its mostly used for night vision. 1.6W of 445nm is nice. I built a 3.2W 445nm in a MagLite host

The PL host is nice and beefy, good run times come from the extra heat sinking. It also comes with a nice case to keep your investment safe! They HL and PL, even some of the pen hosts, come with key locks and beam stops! HUGE DEAL when it comes to safety! HL and PL also have remote plug feature but iirc you get a spare cap that has no remote plug

EDIT: 808nm is a really good burning laser as well but i stay away from anything IR since you cant see the beam. IMO its more dangerous. I like to see the beam and know where its going along with reflections, etc……

By “hotter” , I meant burning, but as you mention-I would want a highly visible wavelength to keep track of where that beam is going.
Thanks for the charts—very helpful stuff.

Well any wavelength can burn with enough power. 1.6W 445nm will light a 2x4 on fire with proper focus and time

Any questions or comments feel free to post or PM. More than happy to help out anyone wondering about the fine world of laser  I mean the least i can do since you all brought me to the land of lumens

ENDS IN 31 DAYS!!! Come on guys, if you are interested then get your orders in

I am interested in a few of those, but my wallet is not

Hopefully before it closes I will scrape up some funds for one

Hey I hear you man. Im in the same boat. Im getting the HL520-50 and atm im going to need to dig into my savings but these are amazing deals so id rather dig into my wallet now then pass it up.

The last GB, you can check the link in the first post on LPF, the HL520-50 went for something like $180 and now its only $80! Kevin at LaserBtb is giving us amazing deals!

To everyone else, I am not kidding when I say these are great deals. Especially on the 515nm and 520nm. These lasers are amazing when placed next to a 532nm. The direct diode greens are the next thing in lasers so get them now while they are hot!

Seems like some pretty good deals. Thanks for reporting Livinloud.

If I had not already made my laser build purchases before this thread started, I'd be very tempted.

Thanks for posting this.
I like laser and I have a cheap green laser pointer and I like the visible beam but I have no real use for it…
What can be done with a 1W laser? What is it good for?

“LOL, my house is bug free and has been ever since I picked up my laser hobby. My 9mm is now my favorite bug zapper since it can fry them from across the room before they can scurry away” from LPF.
I must resist :frowning:

If those photos above dont show what you can do with lasers then idk what will. Some common uses for lasers include; photography, astronomy, fish tank cleaning, 5mW laser = cat toy, making your friends go WTF!, lighting fires on a cold day, lighting fires on a hot day, wood carving/etching, etc…….

I was only thinking of sinister uses for my laser, but those are good too.
