Group buy feeler thread: CQG AA SS NW (XP-G2 4A)

I’m interested.

Oh I see, you didn’t take out the LED + pill in the front?

Gotcha, thanks!

So this has an xpg2 on copper and 3.04 boost driver from stock?

Whaaaaaaaaaaa

I’m interested too

(Long time lurker, first post here  )

The truth is they don’t have any details on the page, except for the title and picture, so we’ll have to wait for the review. It looks very nice, I might be interested…

anybody obtain more detail specs from them yet?
would love to see decent driver…particularly constant brightness…
HML no memory and always start on high looks like balder Hd1…

Chris, I was just sayin, the cost is low…difficult to build a light for that kind of money.

We all need to send them to Dale ...he will put them on copper and add qlite like drivers to them :P

I only wanna pay 11$

Boaz, yours will be $22.76 plus shipping. J)

Well i have 20 sinkpads here waiting for them.

Ill buy a few if we have to, to get things going!

Chris

Initial impressions:
+ It looks as good as in the photos
+ Good build quality
+ Nice tint
+ Nice beam (with LOP reflector)
+ Well regulated (see runtime graph)
+ Modes are ok (116lm, 42lm, 8lm - I'd like to have even lower low, but this isn't bad either)
+ No blinky modes
+ No low voltage protection -> works down to moon mode (yes, this is a pro in case of an AA light!)
- Not current controlled (has PWM, although pretty fast & unnoticeable, haven't measured it yet, but it seems to be around 1kHz)
- Next mode memory(!!)
I already contacted Ric about this issue. Let's see what he answers..

Tailcap readings were: 1.40A, 0.56A & 0.13A

Runtime chart (Eneloop 2000mAh, light kept in hand to provide "natural cooling"):

Nice! Like the chart too, very helpful.

Next mode gotta go. Everything else looks good, no?

Thanks!

I'm sure it will be in the review, but being too curious: what is the size, and: is the driver/led swappable (is 'swappable' a word?, looks weird..)

+1!

Next mode memory would be a deal breaker for me!

I have no idea how anyone anywhere ever could come up with a driver and think next mode memory is a good idea. Next mode memory will make this one a no-go for me!

I’m in for one of these - it fills a niche that is quite underfilled if you ask me (slim, small neutral AA in a nice material with a clicky)

The next mode memory is a bummer.
If they can fix that it’s a go for me.

I think this is one of the smarter categories for group buy /custom blf lights

AA Shiny Stainless Steel has a great overall appeal .

I'd like to see the N-light B2S make a come back with updated emitter

Driver seems to be the weakest link here . I love the emitter choice but would want a AA 14500 driver with low to high ,no memory, no flashy modes instead of high to low .

Moon med high would be ok too
