Any recent issues with SolarForceFlashlight-Sales?

But good things to say about Solarforce I ve only ordered 3 xs from them one was was a L2N host promotional with a free stainless steel clip well I got the host in about 8 days and no clip so I emailed them tracking number and had clip in 6 more days I wish International outdoors was half this quick.i also just recently ordered a XML2-U2 5mode P60 drop in and it was carefully packed in its own threaded 2 piece protective case.

That in the 3 mode version was one of the two drop-ins in my first order. It's the one that did arrive. Nice, but I don't like the pill. It's a proprietary design that doesn't appear compatible with most reflectors available. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play around with it, as my dad kinda confiscated that light until I can get him one of his own. That's why I've been kinda antsy about these parts getting here as one of them will be his.

They sell those cases — 99c each or $17.99 for 10 and $33.98 for 20 so buy singles, Solarforce is often like this, they give an offer price on single items but forget the multiples.
The only advantage over old style film canisters is that you can see which drop-in is which.

Not meaning to sound like an addict, but why buy a storage case when I can just get another host for 10 bucks more?

Yeah, I'm not even remotely showing signs of flashaholism. The three functional L2 host's I have, 5 empty L2n hosts, 5 XTAR chargers, and 3 xm-l2 emitters on 20mm stars sitting within 5 feet of me prove nothing. Neither do the 14 18650s, parts to build 6 P60s, and 2 zoomies that I have on order. Actually when all said and done I'll be giving a lot of it away.

That reminds me I need to get an AVR Programmer, and clip. Also need to get back to studying the BLF-VLD and DrJones Luxdrv 0.3. I may not be a huge flashlight guy, but I am a bit of a computer geek. The idea of programming my own custom modes is very tempting.

That, right there man, you’re addicted. When you make an excuse that “hey, i’ve got some loose batteries. Better get a HOST to hold them safely!” <— sign of addict right there man.

4 or 5 orders at Solarforce and always ok.

Solarforce is one of the best retailers around.

I never wait more than 2 weeks to receive an order from Solarforce. By far the fastest shipping of any of the vendors I’ve ordered from in China.

Funny this is up right now. I was just searching before posting about my own woes with SFF-S.com. Placed an order for 4 lights, 3 quick disconnect mounting kits with switch. I only received two of the mounts, and one of the two is missing pieces.

I’ve contacted them and am hoping for a resolution. My experience with the chinese has not been good so far!

i just received an l2t 8 days after placing an order

My order came quickly, too. No complaints there whatsoever.

I just wish it would have contained everything I ordered.

Same with me, but was L2M  Love that place, NEVER get stuff that fast from China!

LICK FOR HIGH RES!

I licked it but nothing happened :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve ordered from them a handful of times and had always been amazed by their excellent quality/quality control,* UNTIL NOW.* (grey L2N)

I received my latest purchase from them today and was very disappointed. Fast shipping, excellent box, but the item has obvious anodizing issues on the head (look at the obvious bare spot) and physical dings on the body lower edge. This doesn’t seem to be the norm for them, but maybe it is their new normal?

Send them an e-mail with the pics, and a link to your post. I’m sure they’ll take care of it asap

jondotcom, I am going to say that they are the same company. Considering that solarforce-sales.com redirects to solarforceflashlight-sales.com I posted this thread about and your package has the same address as mine, I think it's a pretty safe bet.

Have you tried contacting them yet? I would do that before complaining online about it. The only reason I started this thread was because I hadn't heard from them since placing the order, including a few attempts on my part to contact them. Prior experience was that they were quick to reply, and willing to fix problems. When they finally replied to this issue they were quick to get it remedied.

Sorry to hear about the issues with your host. I just received 5 of them in black and they all look great. Companies like SolarForce pull samples for Quality Control checks, that is if they do QC checks at all. They pull one or two samples from each batch of product and use that to judge the whole. Problem with that methods is that if there's just one bad in a group of 50 you have 4% chance of detecting the problem. It sucks, but flawed product can sneak through. You can't really blame that on the retailer (-sales site) the are really just a distributor, but they should make it right. I would try to contact them, I think you'll be happy with the service.

They asked for my address so they can send me a replacement head, but are the dings on the lower area normal? If it were black it would be easier to touch-up, but you can see bare aluminum when looking from the side.

12/6 Update: They’re supposedly sending me a free replacement head/body.
Good customer service continues, thankfully!

12/11 Update: Rec’d the parts and they look ok. Would have liked good parts the first time but it’s nice to have some spare parts now

I had two very helpful e-mails from SFF-S regarding the missing product from my order and was assured quickly that the missing items will be replaced ASAP.

So far I’m very impressed with their customer service!

I know I’m not perfect and don’t expect it from others, so it’s always appreciated when I see companies simply take care of a problem well.

Good to hear that you both made out OK in the long run!
