That's interesting. Never noticed, but I believe you are correct. Lots of people say the 3C's look too yellow. Which is consistent with the area above the BB line in 3C above.

Now I'm curious. I'll check my one installed emitter tonight and report back. I have only used it outside and haven't tied to determine if it was 3C after installing it. I only remember noticing that I found the tint acceptable and was relieved that it seemed similar to my xml2 3c's (which I like).

EDIT: Examined the tint. It's so green out here (vegetation) I had to go inside and use white walls. You are right, there is some green in the tint. I still find the tint acceptable, but I definitely wouldn't want to dedome this emitter.

If you have already ordered some of these, Simon will likely work with you to cancel the order. After Aliexpress verifies your payment, a "Cancel" button will appear next to the order. You may want to send a message to Simon ahead of time letting him know your intentions.

Thanks for doing the check and verifying my thoughts, I haven’t ordered the emitters yet but will probably still give them a go.
They’re going to be used in thrower projects anyway and there a bit of green is ok by me. In fact I like some extra green for scanning vegetation outside, gives much better contrast than more neutral tints.
I was just interested to see if my tint speculation was holding water with these emitters, trying to get as much of the “blind luck” out of picking emitter tints

I really wish Cree would start doing 4 or 2 step macadam binning for XML 5000k NW emitters like they do with the MT-G2. Then you know you’re getting a very tight tint classification very close to the ideal BB line.
Cheers

Edit: More speculation mode…

If my theory on NW tint yield/distribution follows that blue line then the best chance of getting a tight tint classification closest to the BB line is with the 3B tint. Since they seem rather rarer than 3C and have less of a chance of being overly green than the 3C while not extending below the BB line as with the 3As. I have a 3B that I really like, slightly cooler than the 3Cs but almost no green, maybe I should pick up a few more and compare to see if this theory holds true. :stuck_out_tongue:

XM-L2 U2 1D on Noctigon (slighty less cool compared to 1A)

XP-G 16/20mm 1,75$

XM-L2 T4 7A3 80+CRI

XP-E2 R4 1C

16mm Noctigon - $4.86
20mm Noctigon - $4.96

Highest XP-E2 brightness bin.

I have never considered Kaidomain a trustworthy source for emitters. Especially not since they have a tendency to always claim top bin. And maybe mess up tints about too?

But look what they have added!!!! In B11 bin.. (so they say)

Nichia NVSL219A-H1 B11 LED 14.5 x 1mm Star (92 CRI, 4500K) 3,49$

And there is more Nicha 219

Nichia CRI92 NVSW219B-E R85 B200 LED 14.5 x 1mm Star 3,79$

Nichia NVSW219B-T B280 C1 L2 LED 14.5 x 1mm Star 3,71$

Nichia NCSW219B-E B15 C1 LED 14.5 x 1mm Star 3,49$

Anyone familiar with the other Nichia 219 emitters??

Oh, and the old and classic XR-E, in NW tint 3,29$

From IOS:

XM-L2 U2 1D bare emitter, 4,98$

XM-L2 T6 3C on 14mm alu, 4,98$

XM-L2 T6 3C on 12mm alu, 4,98$

Nichia CRI92 NVSW219B-E R85 B200 $3.79 KD: “SW45, neutral white (4500K), High CRI 92”
That Nichia 219B R85 is a lumen upgrade to our beloved 219A. Thread: New 2013 Nichia NVSL219B… typ. 92CRI Bit hard to believe KD has it. R85 hasn’t even been added to nichia’s 219B public datasheet yet.

I believe the B11 bin for 219A is new, iirc B10 use to be the highest listed in nichia’s datasheet.

~ edit ~
Actually the nichia catalog only lists NVSL219B as available in R85 (high CRI) not the NVSW219B that KD is claiming is R85. Perhaps NVSW is a typo. :~

Couple typos in KDs listings:
Nichia CRI92 NVSW219B-E R85 B200 -> flux bin would be D200 (200-220lm@700mA)
Nichia NVSW219B-T B280 C1 L2 -> flux bin would be D280 (280-300lm@700mA).

You know Kaidomain is annoying, they get in these great leds… but then there is their poor trustworthiness, tendency to claim top bin & typos. :expressionless:

Also the picture for Nichia CRI92 NVSW219B-E R85 B200 seems wrong.

Nichia’s NV leds have a larger die. Looks like KD got the picture switched with Nichia NCSW219B-E B15 C1. NC leds have the smaller die.

Yeah. KD specs = :Sp

And they have zero issues lying about it either based on my experience with them and their customer support.

But still, they could have some interesting emitters. I have yet to finish a muli-emitter Nichia light Ive got, so im not planning on buying any of these emitters now.. And I have several plans for XP-G2s in TIR optics too. Already have the parts.. But I have other projects first.. So Im in no rush buying anything right now..

Hopefully someone will buy some and report back.. 0:)

Eagletac do have B11 Nicha 219 on one of their lights though.

If there is some mistakes in the spreadsheet regarding info on these, please fix or add the missing info, I just quickly added them. Not too familiar with these (I have not even checked the datasheets), and not quite sure what to say about them due to KDs claims, which could be right one some, but usually are wrong..

Despite KD’s issues I couldn’t help myself & tried to order a CRI 92 NVSW219B-E R85. Didn’t go through, my card doesn’t like KD.
NVSL219A-H1 B11 is showing sold out.

Checked the spreadsheet & adjusted them a bit.

Sorry haven't been here in a long time due to overwhelming duties, I work much better with a direct message :P

Calvin!
KD is trying to lure us with these things they claim are nichia R85 219Bs…
Smells like some kind of KD trick, trap or magic mushroom. :ghost:
Save us from KD.

We've had some projects that have been in progress for a long while now, I'll see what I can do when it comes to the bare emitters. Give me about a week to wrap up some things :)

These puppies arrived in the weekend:

XM-L2 T5 5A3 (80+ CRI) on 16mm Noctigon 6,89$

XM-L2 T5 5A3 (80+ CRI) on 20mm Noctigon 6,89$

Like Hank say, nice option for those who loved the 5D2.

And like I say about such emitters, nice option for tint mixing since these are below BBL (most other emitters and de-domed emitters are/end up above)

Ill e-mail Hank and make him double check the specs though. T5 bin and 80+ CRI??

I placed an order anyway. :)

Hank as already confirmed that the specs on the above emitter are correct.

Which should make the emitter AWESOME!

Well, that was quick.
Illumination supply had a small batch of NVSL219B R85 D220 (92 CRI, 4500k) but I guess it sold out since the listing is gone. Marked it as out of stock in the led database.
Thanks for making it available in bare emitters.

Quick indeed.. Too quick..

Emitters from Mountain Electronics have been added to the spreadsheet. Thanks for adding them RMM! (there are no links though) Feel free to contribute more, and update/post in this thread too. :)

For all the people in the US it must be great having another good source for lots of nice emitters. Its also nice for international buyers since shipping is generally fast. I have god experience with this seller, and I am sure many US buyers have too. :)

IOS have gotten some sweet XP-G2s.

XP-G2 R4 5A2 with 70+ CRI (not 70 CRI typical which is normal).

5,96$ on 16mm Noctigon

5,98$ on 20mm Noctigon

He did put link to the product in the spot for the store link on each item. I usually do that too. Its a convenient spot.

=HYPERLINK ( “http://www.mtnelectronics.com/opencart/index.php?route=product/product&path=60_62&product_id=86”,“Mountain Electronics” )

I added the links at the end.

Helios-, you are correct. :)
