I had been checking this one out for a while through several different sites with different lumen ratings - anywhere from 500-1000, so even though BG said 500, who really knows until you get it I suppose I was just hoping for the higher end. Using the SC600 as a comparison of lumens only, I was able to confirm that the 500 on the Roche would be about right.
I just wanted to give others my intial perspective seeing as it seems most are still waiting for theirs. I have had more time to use it now and as with other Roche’s I have I am happy with it, especially for the price.
Either I don’t know how to work it, or I’m just plain retarded! lol.
How does the interface work? It seems as though they sent me a “momentary” switch. You have to hold it down for a minimum of quarter second or so, it turns on (perfect, every time). The problem is when you let go of the switch. 95% of the time the light will turn off (as if it was a momentary switch), the 5% of the times it stays on, I can click the button and it’ll cycle through the modes, double click for strobe and SOS no problem. Hold the button again to turn off.
It didn’t come with instructions, and the manufacturers site is no help Does this light have a momentary mode? Is it that picky about exactly when you let go of the button??
Sounds like yours may have a problem. I have to hold mine down for 1/2 sec to turn on and off. Once on, normal clicks cycle through, High, Medium and low with double click for strobe. Does this the same way everytime. I dont have any momentary on. An idea is to check the battery your using. I tried protected first which I couldnt quite get the head to screw down all the way and caused some erratic behavour but once I put in an un-protected cell and the head could be screwed down properly, no problems since.
Your video was great. Thanks for taking the time to post it. You have me a little worried that I might be another unlucky one with the same switch issue
