Only have one "zoomie", Led Lenser T7. Always thought of aspheric lights as fixed focus (outer dome lens) throwers.

This light fits into the scheme of things together with a dedicated thrower of 1 x 18650 like XR-E R2 of 52mm bezel size, like a Dereelight DBS V3 XR-E R2 aspheric. Or those who have Solarforce MPP-1.
Hotspot is 13cm dia @ 1m dist. Ultrafire U-80 of 42mm bezel is 14cm dia. UF-980L is slightly larger at 14.5-15cm.
This light would not give you spill, perfect on reflective grounds...esp snow or sand, in which the spill would hurt your dark adapted vision and ability to see the hotspot/ID objects. On grass and soil/hilly terrain its probably ok.
How aspherics perform vs big ass reflector lights. You can see the 73mm reflector XM-L doing 80K lux @ 1m, slightly more than a 52mm XR-E R2 aspheric.

I found beamshots!
I was getting worried about the lack of reflector but this seems quite strong. If anything, I will have to find a way to add in a reflector to make the XML more efficient but it looks good from these pictures!
Kind of strange the other yezl lights have 3 mode w/o blink and this is 5.
I just checked, it,s still unshipped. That's a very bad service. If it,s still unshipped tomorrow, I will cancel it.

It's more like either aspheric or reflector. If you use both, the reflector will only result in a quite ugly spill pattern.
Hm, does look interesting. Maybe the red is a bit more forgiving :) I've seen uglier images, e.g. here.
Here's my favorite, one of the worst things you can do in that respect, MCE with OP reflector and aspheric :)
The light that is caught by the reflector only gives that outer ugly spill, it does not contribute to the spot at all.
Well, it's still unshipped. I decided to give them a last chance. I used their message form and I made them some kind of an ultimatum.

Hmmm, is an XM-L (125°) really suited for flood-to-throw lights? Especially in throw position a lot of light is lost by hitting the side walls instead of the lens. OK, I can see how this light will be useful in flood position, I love the beams on my C78 and UF H2B. The beam angle of the XR-E (90°) is more suited to flood-to-throw lights, though.
