18 x XM-L Flashlight is in the town!! Someone has just up the game!!

I’m amazed that it doesn’t have a bottle opener on it.

…and what exactly would you want to “illuminate” with that kind of flood power? Neighbour’s Backyard? and one more thing…what is wrong with ducttaping 18 convoys S2 “in paralell”… J) at least it will be slightly cheaper…

In the specifications:

Lumens (max) 12000 lm
Power consumption: 10W

I want some of those 1200lm/W leds…

If each LED is being pushed with only 0.75A, gives about 300 lumens, it can easily produce >5000 lumens at around 40W (someone please check my math)!

what do we want to illuminate today?

i am willing to wait for next generation emitters that will have more lm/w and more impressive outputs per chip but there are never too many lumens

More Lumens the better ! i do alot of night Geocaching, backcountry camping, canoeing, boating, biking, etc. and have a high diet of lumens per day.

Saft has some 70+ amp NiMH D cells…

can you provide some links?

Nope, got a data sheet from a local battery shop a while back. Can’t find it. I think the Imidion D cells do 40-50 amps…

Now at ebay

I wonder if anyone is going to get this light and make a review of it?

These multi-emitter lights are getting out of hand! When will to many be too much? One of us needs to go a head and build a 100 emitter light. I’m happy with my 12 emitter lights.

It has the potential. I’m up to 6980 lumens with my X60vn at the 2:00 minute point while running on 20R’s. Tom basically has that matched with his his 7 led TRJ18. So I’m sure this 18 LED monstrosity has the chance to do even more if somebody could find the right driver for it.

The only driver I can think of is the hyperboost. That’s the driver I have in my 12*XM-L2 Courui and my Trustfire AK-90. Its running at about 123 watts right now and its been holding up very well considering the designer does not recommend running above 100 watts.

Your X60 is dedomed too isn't it? I'd love to see what a light like this can do, but I don't want to throw another 100-200 dollars into it.

ok you guys, found the ultimate deal on this light!
whos gonna do the review??

The Chinese should go back to E.E. classes and design some new drivers. Let’s not mess around and start at a measly 10 amps, and go from there. I want to see 18 gauge wire glow like an incandescent.

They’re Chinese lumens, so half of 12 is 6 = 6,000! It’d beat the X60, but with next-mode memory and the 18-inches of girth, you’d have to be at least 1/2 insane to invest in it.

correct me if i’m wrong. these are the specs,

Flashlights
TAIL-CAP CURRENT 2800 mA
BATTERY FORM FACTOR 26650 / 32650
REQUIRED BATTERY COUNT 3 / 5

doing simple maths,

2800mA, max 5 Batteries,

total Power consumption = 2.8A * (5*3.7V)
= 51.8W
Per LED is taking about 51.8W/18
= 2.87W

translate back to per battery is around 0.77A at 3.7V per LED consumption

Underdriven compared to a C8 with 2.8A per LED driver… haha

You will be lucky to get 70 lumens/watt OTF, so maybe 3600 lumens total…
